Our Verdict

This offer was due to expire on February 28th, 2017 and has now been extended until March 15th, 2017. What’s interesting is that the mailers that went out for this offer show the expiration of April 30th, the problem is the mailers don’t have the $50 statement credit attached (you usually need to do a online dummy booking when logged into United to get these to show up).

Problem is that even if people are targeted for this offer it still falls under the 5/24 rule, so most people will not be eligible. If you are eligible this is as good as this bonus gets, but it might make sense to pick up other Chase cards under this rule first (e.g Chase Sapphire Reserve in branch 100,000 point bonus). If you’re thinking about applying for this card, I’d recommend reading these things you should know about Chase first. We first posted about these offers here.

I am targeted, but way over 5/24. Any known way to get this?

If an account doesn’t get the 70k offer via one of the above 3 methods, does it help to keep on logging out and back in in the hopes that the offer will appear or once I see that 70k didn’t apply to the account that means things won’t change is all activity stays the same with the account?

Also, do brand new account typically tend to not get the increased offer?

Thx. If my account is targeted, can my wife use that targeted offer to apply on her name?

I was not targeted for 70k. I made some trivially small purchases using MPX app a few weeks ago and just got the increased offer via dummy booking.

Also a question regarding deadline of March 15 – I just downgraded my current MPE (opened in 2010) and following the link am eligible for 70K + $50 credit. I was advised to reapply after 30 days of downgrading which would make it April 3rd or so. Do we have any DPs on the March 15th deadline from previous 70K offerings? Thanks in advance!

No DP, but I’m very curious – what did you downgrade it to? I was not aware you could downgrade a MPE.

DId the Dummy for the $50 statement credit but the site has been down. I have tried occasionally for the 0K offer and that link is always error try again in 24 hours. and this one asked me to select the card and then went to an error message.

Anyone else experiencing this?

How do you get the image above that shows the deadline is March 15,2017? When I clicked the link, it doesn’t say anything about the deadline. Am I missing something? Or did Chase remove the date quietly in the last several days? Anyone can confirm that you are still able to see March 15 as deadline?

Thanks.

Is this the exact same offer to the one that I can see after I log into my Untied account? or is this a different one? The reason I am asking is when I logged into my United account, I can see the 70K offer, but I don’t see the expiration date. I’d like to apply as late as possible due to some spending issue.

Thanks.
