Our Verdict
None of these deals look good to me, but might be useful to somebody.
Hat tip to Parts_Unknown-
Has anyone here got back on the AAdvantage+Citi train since having their account deleted for having too many Citi signups (2019/2020?) It’s been 2-3 years, but still haven’t created an Aadvantage account much less applied for a Citi/Barclays card!
yawn, the last 2 (shopping and simply miles) are the only ones remotely useful, and even then hardly worth the effort unless they stack with something else
Junk
They missed one: Transfer your TYP to AA.
Besides points transfer ability, others are simply garbage.
I’ll file this under “Discounts on things that aren’t really discounts as you’d probably figure a way to get these for less than sticker price anyways”
How about another 75K signup bonus offer? 50K is a joke
Another way they are celebrating is by telling me my miles are expiring, unless I get an AA credit card.
I might actually do something about that, maybe use the AA shopping portal.
simply miles is a plus
Here’s a little secret you won’t read on points and miles blogs:
Airline miles, due to dynamic pricing, have been massively devalued such that even pursuing this hobby anymore (and thus visiting these blogs) is bumping up against the time-value-of-money issue.
In other words, it’s hardly worth anyone’s time anymore.
Dynamic award pricing destroyed this game more than anyone cares (or dares) to admit.
True. Still value in many hotel programs like Hyatt and I was able get dynamic/web special award to MEX this winter that saved 40k miles on old AA awards charts. Those never existed 10 years ago. Over all yeah, it’s always a downhill slide. Earn and burn and consider cash back cards.
You are not incorrect.
But, people still need to get from point A to point B. My wife’s parents will be moving to South Carolina in a few months…for whatever reason one-way economy flights can be had for 6k aa miles from MKE and ORD, that’s dirt cheap. If I can accumulate aa pesos on the delo I’m going to pursue it since I still get good value from them.
Do these bonus miles qualify for loyalty points?
