Citi Double Cash

Our Verdict

Unfortunately you can’t get the Citi Rewards+ bonus if you’ve received a bonus on the Preferred/Premier/Prestige or have closed one of those cards in the last 24 months. It’s normally a better idea to get a bigger bonus on one of those cards and then downgrade to the Rewards+. I’m not sure if there is any sort of similar restriction on the double cash card but I don’t think there is. I do think the double cash bonus is worth doing as the card itself is useful for the 2% earning rate and the fact it can transfer to Citi rewards partners at a 1:1 rate if you have a Premier/Prestige card. Because of that I’ll add this in branch bonus to our list of the best credit card bonuses.

May I get the bonus if I complete the spending of premier card and reward+ at almost the same time point? Any DP? Thanks

What are the chances of getting a bonus match approved from Citi if you recently got the Citi Double Cash?

veeRob

Sorry, verbiage is ambiguous…. if I EVER got a bonus on the ThankYou cards I can’t get this bonus, or only if I got the bonus in the last 24 months?

It’s 24 months since either opening or closing a thank you card. So if you closed a ThankYou card when the AF came due 12 months in that means you have to wait 24 more months to get another bonus.

veeRob

OK thank you.

Anyone know if it’s also 18 months 0% APR on purchases? Love churning bank bonuses on the banks dime.

is it worth it to apply Citi Rewards+ card if I already have preferred and prestige cards for more than two years? I plan to downgrade prestige card to rewards+ later this year anyway.

Where do you see the $100 bonus on the citi double cash card?

Damn. I just got the Double Cash a couple months ago for the 2% and now there’s a bonus.

I just got the double cash two weeks back online. Is there a way to match this offer ? I don’t have a branch near by. Is there a flyer or ad that we can use to get the offer via SM ?

I product change to the rewards card, my last thank you points bonus was in Nov 2015, am I still qualified for the bonus even if I currently have the rewards card?

I am wondering if my son would be approved for the double cash card. He is a 22 year old college student working as a teacher’s assistant making about $100-125/week. During the summertime and Christmas break he is a Kroger pharmacy tech making $250-300/week.

He has a double cash card on my account (for 2 1/2 years) which I pay in full and on time every month. I believe he receives a certain level of credit building benefit from being on my account. I am unsure how to proceed and guide him to build his credit score as well as be approved for his own credit card.

Check his credit report if Citi reported your double cashback on his credit report, if they did he should be good

If I already have Double Cash, can I open another Double Cash card and get this bonus?

veeRob

I also came here wondering that. Don’t see any language that says no, but I’m guessing no.

Can you apply for both cards at the same time in branch and get both bonus?
I know there is the few day rule but since this isn’t online does it count or can recon bypass this?

Does anyone know when this offer will expire?

Just wanted to let you know that I received an email allowing me to apply for this offer online, which is obviously preferable to going in branch.
