Citi Merchant Offers: 30% off Uber (Max $10 x 4); $5 Off UberEATS; Save On Virgin Atlantic, Hawaiian Airlines, Holiday Inn Express

The Offer

A number of new offers are showing for some in their Citi Merchant Offers:

  • 30% off any Uber trip, up to $10 discount; offer can be used 4 times ($40 total savings)
  • Get $5 back on your next Uber Eats order of $25 or more purchased through the Uber Eats app
  • $50 back on $500 spend with Virgin Atlantic
  • $20 back on $200 spend with Hawaiian Airlines
  • $20 back on $100 spend at Holiday Inn Express

Our Verdict

The Uber offer will be useful to many, and the others may be too. These are targeted and won’t show for everyone or on every card.

Like others, my activated offer completely disappeared. I took several Uber rides with this card because of the offer. This is upsetting.

Same. Let us know if the cashback posts anyway.

(I just signed in now, and previously had successfully added the offer on 3 cards. Now I only had it on 1. I was surprised and assumed it was some sort of site error, so I signed out and back in, and now I have it on none. The one thing I do notice is that all 3 cards have the same number of officers available, this was not the case before. Hope this means they’re having a temporary problem.)

Oh well I am not alone then.
If someone took a screenshot of the offer with its T&C and can share it here it would be very useful.

Enrolled the offer and took the Uber ride on Sep 01, while the deal was gone, my Citi merchant offer page showed “Your Earnings to Date: $10.00” today.

Jerry Huang are you saying you received $10 credit even though the offer had vanished ?

Also it seems from the timeline that this offer came on Aug 31 but then you are stating that offer was gone on Sept 1 so the offer was showing up for only one day?

You should do a blog post about how actually this ‘benefit’ is hot flaming garbage. Everything you just posted above has been wiped.

I added the Uber offer on 8/31 and now it disappeared. Same with the offer I had to get Uber Eats Pass reimbursed.
Anyone else?

Yes, I added too, but did not redeem. Now no longer see them

I had ubereats on there, added it to my offers, and now it’s gone from there—even though it didn’t expire Until october.

I also added a local restaurant offer, and miracle of miracles, I actually received cash back for it about 4 days later, even though the offer doesn’t show up as redeemed.

It’s bizarre how their offers show up and disappear constantly, so It’s tough to really rely on any of them.

Do these offers conflict with the airline dining sites? Meaning can I claim points for a restaurant on both Citi Merchant offers and United mileage dining…or does using one cancel the ability to earn on the other?

Does anyone know if buying a gift card on the website triggers the offer? It is done though launch cards, but in the past it had worked with some Amex offers (ie instacart)

They’re all showing up as expired for some weird reason.

Every Merchant offer I have is expired, most of them 170 days ago.

In the app, click “services” at the bottom, then “product & offers”. At the bottom of the new page, there is a “merchant offers” section that shows some offers. Click “show all” and you will be sent to a list of your credit cards and their offers.

I recently used a great Citi Merchant offer for Mercato. I guess it is a grocery service that contracts with local stores. The offer was for $15 off an order of $15 or more. There was also a Simply Miles offer for 700 AA miles. Both of these were for new customers only. I used it for a local Vietnamese grocery store, and stacked it with a coupon code I found online. Basically got a bunch of free groceries.
