In October of last year we reported that Cozy Pay would be entering the rental payment space. Last month they launched their open Beta and now users can sign up to use the service. Like Plastiq & RadPad you can use a credit or debit card to pay your rent, unfortunately you first must use your checking account and your landlord will be given the option to receive a check or receive the payment electronically.
If your landlord chooses to receive it electronically then you’ll be able to make all future payments with a debit or card card instead of a checking account. Payments made by debit or credit card will incur a 2.75% transaction fee. Plastiq charges a 2.5% fee (sometimes lower and they have referral bonuses) for credit cards and 1% for debit cards. RadPad charges $4.95 for debit cards up to $1,000 and 2.99% for credit cards.
I’m pretty sure Cozy Pay will code as 6513, not sure what cards do/don’t earn category bonuses on that and I’m not entirely sure it matters with Plastiq currently coding some purchases as 3x and offering lower fees (update this might not be working anymore).
