Our Verdict

Nice deal for those who can use up the Extrabux. I’m guessing Uber will be the most popular option.

I purchased $50 for Uber last night, and printed out on my receipt was a tracker saying I had to spend $25 more in gift cards to get $15 in extrabux. Bought a second card for $25 and the Extrabux printed. Seemed like it was a new promo for this week.

The qualifying items should have a yellow sale sign on them. There were 8 qualifying SKU’s at my CVS this week. As far as how many GC are actually on the rack, there are maybe 140 different types. The rest are VISA and reloadable prepaids. “100s more in store” is very unlikely.

SO went to CVS this morning and the manager said that only the cards in the picture (Google Play, Bass Pro, Nike) were eligible. “100s more per store” seems like a stretch in their case. Hopefully a store-specific quirk.

No Uber card was available to test- Amazon did not work (even though I haven’t seen any DPs that it should, just confirmation.)
