Delta Ending Single Visit Lounge Passes, Annual Rates Increasing

Delta has announced that effective immediately they will no longer be selling single visit passes that cost $59 or 5,000 SkyMiles. Any passes that have already been purchased will be valid until the expiration date listed. Additionally annual rates will be increasing:

  • Delta Sky Club Individual Membership annual rates will increase by $50 to $545, or 54,500 miles
  • Delta Sky Club Executive Membership annual rates will increase by $100 to $845, or 84,500 miles

This is in addition to the previous changes that had been announced for 2019 onwards. I have to worry how much of an issue single pass users really are in terms of overcrowding. I can’t see many people paying $59 or 5,000 miles.

The overcrowding has to be mostly the result of Amex Plat members.

See https://www.delta.com/us/en/delta-sky-club/access for the list of which tickets grant free entry to the lounge. The rule of thumb is business class (sometimes marketed as Delta One) = free lounge entry.

Too bad. Delta could have used the extra revenue from those day passes to clean the black sludge from their ice machines and hire exterminators so they don’t fail any more health inspections…

I assume you cant access lounge anymore with $29 day pass rate holding the Delta Plat. Wonderful. Card will be an easy cancel next year.

I don’t think this is the case. Delta Gold and Plat cards still get you reduced rate access.

This seems to affect guests via Amex Platinum as well. They no longer mention the $29 guest option anywhere, instead saying “Additional guest access and fees subject to terms and conditions of participating airport clubs. For the most current Delta Sky Club access and pricing policy, please visit Delta.com/skyclub. All Delta Sky Club rules apply to Delta Sky Club membership and use. To review the rules, please visit Delta.com/skyclub”

Your linked previously announced changes says it’s $29. It appears guests may no longer be allowed at all?

Guests are still allowed. Per https://www.delta.com/us/en/delta-sky-club/access, “Platinum and Centurion American Express Card Members may enter the club with up to two guests for an additional fee.”
