Our Verdict

Topcashback runs this offer with us semi regularly, this is the highest sign up bonus they have offered. Previous best was $20 and that was also only available to our readers, normal bonus is $10 or nothing. The reason the bonus is higher than normal is that we don’t receive anything if you sign up for this offer, instead we’ve passed the full $25 to our readers. We always try to do these types of deals with companies, but very few show any interest. One of the reasons I love Topcashback is they have the same mindset as we do, they give users 100% of a store’s commission back as cash back. They make money through separate advertising banners  ‘our list stores’ among other ways. I find that Topcashback rates are consistently better than other shopping portals and it’s the portal I use the most often.

In addition when you cash out you can also get bonuses if you cash out for something other than cash:

  • Amazon Gift Card (3% bonus)
  • American Express® Reward Card (3% bonus)
  • Gap eGiftCard (5% bonus)
  • Nike eGiftcard (5%)
  • Hotels.com eGiftcard (5%)
  • Petco eGiftcard (5%)

If you want to see more brands & websites offer our readers increased bonuses like this then there are two things you can do:

  • Sign up if you don’t have have an account
  • Share this with others

You can view our full review of Topcashback by clicking here. I know some readers have had issues in the past, keep in mind money earned from Topcashback doesn’t become payable until they receive the money from the merchant so the wait times can be longer than other sites. I think the increased cashback rates are worth the wait times, but YMMV. As always make sure you follow our tips to ensure portals track correctly. If you have any unresolved issues with TCB then submit a support request here. They will also be in the comments section answering any questions readers might have.

I am still showing cash back for the Macy’s Black Friday Sale as pending as of today 3/16/18. Outrageous. I will never use TCB again – Ebates never gave me a problem.

Hmmm. I’m already pretty skeptical about this. It’s asked me to create a security question, I did, and then keeps asking me to do it again. Also, is noting that I clicked through two sites, but says I visited one and browsed the other, but the one I purchased from is marked as “browsed,” as in just on TCB and not clicking through. However, I was shopping on that site for at least 15 minutes, and ultimately made a purchase.

Hi Teebee,

I am sorry about that, it might have been that the cache needed to update to see that this had been set. It’s something we are working on. If you can see that you clicked through to the retailer then this should be fine and we should go on to see your purchase track within 7 days.

Thanks,
Jack

Damn….I JUST signed up for an account like 4 days ago on TCB, and haven’t even done any shopping with it yet. Just made an account because I heard it was a good portal to use. Is there any way I can get this deal still?

Hi Shaun,

As much as I would love to look into applying this on your account, we would then have to apply it to anyone elses account from the past 4 days. The only thing I can suggest is to go on and tell your friends about TopCashback. We’re currently offering $10.00 per friend that you refer.

Thanks,
Jack

Currently have a claim with TCB against hotels.com for a hotel stay 12/1 – 12/2 in Copenhagen I booked last September. I joined TCB at that time due to the $20 bonus offer advertised here by DoC. Unfortunately hotels.com stiffed me and only paid 3% when I should have gotten 7%. I did not receive hotels.com Rewards for my booking and thus the higher amount should have applied. The resubmitted claim can take four months to process which is absolutely ridiculous. TCB should just do the right thing and cover the extra $6 since I can prove I didn’t receive the hotels.com Rewards. I’ve never had any problem with eBates paying on any cash back and will be switching back to them exclusively once I reach the $10 spend and receive the $20 bonus.

Hi Mr G,

Were you signed in at the time of your purchase for Hotels.com? If you were signed in to your Hotels.com account then this will automatically include you in the rewards program they have.

We are always more than happy to chase up your Hotels.com transactions but it is the retailer who holds the details of your purchase and we cannot confirm from our information alone, what rate you would be eligible for here so we need to speak to the retailer in order to get this uplifted. This can take slightly longer when we do need to chase it up further but it’s the merchant that we need to confirm what you are eligible for and what the retailer is happy to pay to us, to pay to you. We give 100% of what Hotels.com pass to us so we need them to tell us they are going to pay the 7% first.

Thanks,
Jack

Hello Jack,

No I wasn’t signed into my Hotels.com account. In fact I don’t even remember the password. The e-mail confirmation I received after booking the hotel states “Sign into your account now to receive Hotels.com Rewards” which I did not do because it isn’t worth it for a one night stay and I wanted the higher payback rate. Hopefully the issue can be resolved eventually. I’m not giving up on this and I’ll keep bugging you guys about it, because I know I am right and I want my extra $6 which I am entitled to.

I signed up using the same promotion last time and did a bunch of black friday shopping through TCB. I’ve had two issues with their tracking. One was the Macy’s 20% back promotion. I made a purchase on that day but the tracking showed up a couple days later which ended up a normal %. The other one is Ralph lauren. The purchase amount has kept changing, of course the cashback amount as well. The total earning showed over $100 in Dec now I’m seeing $85. I don’t know what happened to the rest and I don’t want to spend my time on tracking cashback amounts for every single purchase. $25 promotion was good deal and I’m happy with it but I will probably go back to using ebates.

Hi Lin,

Is this tracked but not paid to you yet? We might still be waiting for the payment from Dell but if this is tracking incorrectly in your account then please do get in touch through a support ticket or our Facebook private messages and we’ll see what we can do about getting this to the right amount for you.

Thanks,
Jack

Hi Susan,

Would you like to get in touch with us? Either through a support ticket (www.TopCashback.com/help/54) or through Facebook where you should reach myself. I’d be more than happy to look into your account and make sure you’re getting the correct % against your transactions. We did have a small issue with some rates showing the higher amount but we thought we’d got all these covered. If you ask for myself on a ticket or Facebook, I’ll get this sorted for you.

Thanks,
Jack

I don’t usually have issues with TCB tracking, but they are (or at least were?) horrible with tracking multiples, like if for some reason I’d place 10 separate orders of $150 each. My understanding is they are aware of the issue but don’t fix it, for some reason.

Hi Chuck,

It’s hard for me to put a reason on why this happened for you and I’m sorry it did. Did you put some missing cashback claims in for these? It might have been because a few orders were made close together so I would suggest maybe clearing your cookies after a purchase or two so the cookies are placed correctly for each purchase.

I hope this helps,
Jack

Right, that’s what I’m saying: other portals don’t have this issue. It’s a flaw in your tracking you should fix. I may have filed a claim; it’s a constant problem for years, not a specific one-time issue. Many others have mentioned the same thing. You should fix your system, not tell users to clear their cookies.

Hi Chuck,

We do keep tracking statistics and these are checked on a regular basis for any issues in general with tracking but this can also come down to the settings of your browser. Like using an adblocker will stop cookies from being placed so they do play a part in your purchases tracking and isn’t something we can clear for you.

We use third party affiliate networks like other cashback sites and utilize the links and referrals that are provided to us to list on our website so there won’t be that much of a difference between how different cashback sites track your earnings.

Thanks,
Jack

Thanks for enlightening me that I can’t use Adblock when doing portal shopping, lol.

I’m saying that TCB has an issue (or at least had) that other portals don’t. You can choose to accept it and try to fix it or you can ignore it and continue having the problem. I can’t force you to do anything about it, America is a free country.

Not saying this isn’t a good deal but they’ve had a $29 referral off before Q1 of 2016, so not the highest ;).

Hi Chuck,

This might not be the highest referral bonus we’ve had, but it definitely is the highest sign up bonus we’ve had! The referral bonus goes to the person who referred you but the sign up bonus is for the new member and you still only need to earn $10.00 payable cashback to get it!

Thanks,
Jack

Keep in mind there are many DPs that TCB will scam you out of larger earning items. If you want to purchase larger ticket items, use someone more reliable – possibly eBates. I’ve never had issues with smaller items and use TCB for most things.

why risk it at all? I buy thousands of dollars of items online for retail sale so cash back is important to me. I would never trust TCB for those purchases. I did for a few and learned the hard way as many others have mentioned here.
Just don’t use them altogether. I had bad experiences with TCB as well and just use befrugal for now.

Hi Matt,

When you say that you’ve bought these items for retail, does that mean that you are selling these items on? If so, that can sometimes be the reason why retailers don’t pass over the cashback and we try to list this in the terms and conditions if it applies.

Thanks,
Jack

Hi Ferris,

I can assure you that we do have reliable tracking and if something does go wrong, we have systems in place to help us notice these sooner as well as offering the missing cashback claims to follow up further with the retailer about your purchase, have you tried using these yet for your purchases? Although we don’t receive a reason for why your cashback went untracked, we are usually more than happy to chase this up for you and if you send in a support ticket we can offer you tips and suggestions on how to improve this going forward.

I hope this helps,
Jack

YMMV. Recently I have very bad experience with topcashback. On Black Friday, tcb has promotion with dell which is 20% back. I shopped via that deal and still waiting for my cashback to be confirmed. I make 7 shopping via tcb, 3 tracked automatically and the rest I have to follow up with csr. A few weeks ago, when amex have offer with hellofresh, I still shop via tcb (cancel that after 2 weeks) and they decline my cashback claim. I switch from ebates to tcb as tcb seems to have higher rate, but later I realize there is no way for any network to always have a higher rates as those cashback come from business directly so there is a cap on that. I’m not going to use tcb anymore as it’s time consuming experience for me.

FYI, I always use a different browser (with no extensions) to shop via topcashback.

HI Lin,

I’m sorry to hear that you had trouble with some of your purchases. We don’t receive any reasons when these go untracked but we do report anything to your account that is sent over to us and if this doesn’t happen we are usually pretty happy to chase these up further for you if the retailer is accepting our missing cashback claims.

You mention that you cancelled an order after 2 weeks. If you do no longer have the order and this has been cancelled then the retailer won’t pay out on this. We would need you to keep any items that are purchased if you wish to earn cashback. If you would like any further help with your transactions or account though, feel free to contact our support ticket – http://www.TopCashback.com/help/54

I hope this helps,
Jack

Hellofresh is a subscription service. I placed my first and second order and received them before cancel my third and all future orders.

I checked BBB and realize tcb is b- with a lot negative reviews while others like ebates is A. I’m not 100% trust in BBB also but considering the effort I have to spend, I will rather go for a stable one as you guys always say cashback is bonus and we should not make decision on which network give the higher rebates lol

Hi Lin,

If you cancelled the third subscription then this would be why your cashback was declined as you’d need to keep this in order to earn.

We are only able to pass over amounts that are awarded to us and we feel that this allows us to offer higher rates to our members. We don’t always receive a reason for why this happens but we are happy to chase them up for you and find out more if we don’t get any cashback to place in your account.

If there is anything else that we can help you look into, please do contact us or myself and we can take a further look for you.

Thanks,
Jack
