Ebates Adds $5 Limit To In Store Cashback At OfficeDepot/Max

One of the nice things about Ebates is that they have a card linked program that lets you earn cash back in store at select merchants. One of those merchants is OfficeDepot/Max. Previously there was no limit to how much you could earn per transaction, but they have now added a $5 limit per transaction.

I’ll let you fill in the blanks about why such a restriction has been added. At least the offer hasn’t been completely removed and even with a $5 cash back limit per transaction the offer is still useful.

At least it’s $5 per transaction as opposed to just $5 overall.

I didn’t get anything from office max last week or ever. What did I do wrong?

You need to link your card to ebates in store wallet and activate the offer. You need to reactivate the offer , after each use of the card.

I don’t think it’s that simple- my GC purchases at OM last week didn’t track at all. I linked, then made the purchase, but it didn’t go through on Ebates end. I even tried a couple of times with a filler item in the same transaction, no dice. I think it was very YMMV if gift cards worked, it’s against the terms after all.

I have never been able to get my INK transactions to track. My SPG did, but only used that card twice. Wish the INK would track.

Interesting…….The question is why only some transaction tracked and other not? Maybe the issue with only some customer’s purchases tracking was dependent on the card used for the purchase?

The 6% cash back offer was the ultimate deal similar to last year 5back – CVS run. In 2 days , i profited around 500$ just by emptying 2 stores. i started using 1% cash back cards and 1 time even used a debit card. Even 3% is super profitable. I dont know how long this offer was available.

Does in-store cashback work if the linked card is used through a Mobile Wallet (Like Samsung Pay, or Apple Pay)?

My USB AR keeps asking for a PIN whenever I use it at my local grocery store. I just hit the green button on the card reader, and it goes through. I never tried my AR card in a Office Depot/Max. Doesn’t it work if you just hit the green button when the card reader asks for a PIN?

It didnt even work after pressing red or green buttons. Pressing Red button worked for normal purchases .

While buying giftcards from best buy , again it asked for pin and pressing green worked.

While in walmart and staples, it didnt even ask for a pin while buying giftcards. Very weird . This is the first month i have bought 2000 $ worth of gift cards using USB reserve. Hoping iam not shutdown
