Our Verdict
Annoying to see another weak sitewide deal of 10%. Was hoping for 15-20%, doesn’t look like we will get that unless sales are worse than eBay expects I guess. To max out the discount you’ll want to spend $1,000 exactly. At least this doesn’t have the heavily restricted categories like the last 10% off deal. Last 15% off deal was November 21st. As always don’t forget to go through a portal. This deal is OK if you need something in the near future, but might make sense to wait for a bigger discount if you can hold off.
One more observation: They seem to be charging sales tax on the total before the 10% is taken off.
This doesn’t stack with the PayPal 20 off 50+
I have been waiting on a big purchase, I guess with this coupon now chances of getting a 15% off soon are remote.
Should I wait till Christmas? Ah, decisions decisions …
Trippy it also depends on the state of the market you are bidding on. If you see a good deal you may want to just jump on it. I did.
The top portal on cashbackmonitor is lemoney at 1.6%. Does anyone have a review of their experience on lemoney?
I use them frequently. I have not had any problems. The only downside is that you need to accumulate $25 for a payout. On the other hand, they do award “turbo credits” from time to time. Using turbo credits makes the cashback rates very attractive.
Thanks! It saved me a few extra dollars today on a purchase I was about to make anyway.
Could be a stupid Q, but that won’t stop me from asking: Are William Charles ‘s referral link and going through a portal mutually exclusive? I’d like to do both if there is a way.
Unfortunately it’s one or the other
I personally was happy to see it. Thanks for the heads up Doc! I managed to snag a Canon lens I’ve been looking at from Adorama’s eBay store. Same price as on Adorama’s web site, even had the same free accessory bundle. No tax and the coupon worked. Any time they have a site-wide coupon is great as far as I’m concerned. Too bad Best Buy HDD deal was yesterday, that would have been another great thing to use the coupon on.
Argh! I’ve been waiting and waiting on a time sensitive purchase, so yesterday I gave in and pulled the trigger to get the ebay bucks deal.
You also cannot purchase stamps from the USPS on ebay with this deal even though the terms of the coupon do not mention an exclusion for postage.
I’m thinking you may have misunderstood doc’s intent. They’re straight up on this website without any rose colored glasses. If you need something now, yes 10% off is better than nothing. If you don’t or are on the fence, this deal sucks.
