Our Verdict

Annoying to see another weak sitewide deal of 10%. Was hoping for 15-20%, doesn’t look like we will get that unless sales are worse than eBay expects I guess. To max out the discount you’ll want to spend $1,000 exactly. At least this doesn’t have the heavily restricted categories like the last 10% off deal. Last 15% off deal was November 21st. As always don’t forget to go through a portal. This deal is OK if you need something in the near future, but might make sense to wait for a bigger discount if you can hold off.

I feel like you guys have been getting really negative in the past few months. It’s a bummer keep reading these. Any discount is great for someone who happens to need something now.

I often find that most items are cheaper in store than on eBay.
Is that negativity, or an uplifting comment for retail establishments 😉

-/+ is in the eye of the beholder. And sometimes – it’s just a matter or time for the “true” direction to reveal itself. Many things are positive today…but in the end negative.

I often find the opposite.

Obviously depends on the item, as always: be a smart shopper and do your homework

Agreed, I personally thought the tone of the post was a bit too negative, though I always appreciate honest info and honest feedback Doc provides. I personally would have preferred 15 or 20% off as well, but I wasn’t “annoyed” about being able to save 10% on a lens I wanted to buy anyway. 🙂

I somewhat share the sentiment. But then I’ve been eagerly waiting for any substantial discount for the past week or so. Wasn’t targeted for any of the previous offers, so 10% is pretty good for me 🙂

i like the “negativity” more like honesty, these guys are 100% genuine unlike those other shill sites. keep it up DOC!!!!your the best!

I’m thinking you may have misunderstood doc’s intent. They’re straight up on this website without any rose colored glasses. If you need something now, yes 10% off is better than nothing. If you don’t or are on the fence, this deal sucks.

You also cannot purchase stamps from the USPS on ebay with this deal even though the terms of the coupon do not mention an exclusion for postage.

Argh! I’ve been waiting and waiting on a time sensitive purchase, so yesterday I gave in and pulled the trigger to get the ebay bucks deal.

I personally was happy to see it. Thanks for the heads up Doc! I managed to snag a Canon lens I’ve been looking at from Adorama’s eBay store. Same price as on Adorama’s web site, even had the same free accessory bundle. No tax and the coupon worked. Any time they have a site-wide coupon is great as far as I’m concerned. Too bad Best Buy HDD deal was yesterday, that would have been another great thing to use the coupon on.

Could be a stupid Q, but that won’t stop me from asking: Are William Charles ‘s referral link and going through a portal mutually exclusive? I’d like to do both if there is a way.

Thanks! It saved me a few extra dollars today on a purchase I was about to make anyway.

The top portal on cashbackmonitor is lemoney at 1.6%. Does anyone have a review of their experience on lemoney?

I use them frequently. I have not had any problems. The only downside is that you need to accumulate $25 for a payout. On the other hand, they do award “turbo credits” from time to time. Using turbo credits makes the cashback rates very attractive.

I have been waiting on a big purchase, I guess with this coupon now chances of getting a 15% off soon are remote.

Should I wait till Christmas? Ah, decisions decisions …

Trippy it also depends on the state of the market you are bidding on. If you see a good deal you may want to just jump on it. I did.

This doesn’t stack with the PayPal 20 off 50+

One more observation: They seem to be charging sales tax on the total before the 10% is taken off.
