This deal has expired, click here to view more Fidelity offers.

The Offer

Direct Link (requires unique offer code)

The Fidelity 2% Visa card from Elan is sending out a targeted ongoing spend offer. There are two different kinds of offers people are getting:

  • Spend $500+ across 5 or more transactions and get a $25 bonus
  • Spend $xx amount [insert amount like $350, $2,400, $4,400, $6,200, whatever] and all spend beyond that will get an extra 1 point per dollar for a total earn of 3% back instead of the standard 2%

The Fine Print

  • Promotion period is from March 1, 2018, through April 30, 2018.
  • Must enroll in this promotion by March 31, 2018.

Our Verdict

Fidelity sends out a few of these targeted offers per year, and this round went out a few days ago for the new month. First offer mentioned above is quite good, the second one might also be good depending on how much spend it requires before the bonus kicks in.

There are a number of other variations to these offers as well – read the terms carefully. Mine needed $4,400 before beginning to get any bonus at all so I’ll pass.

@vince
Yes, please inform how this promotion is delivered: email, print mailer, or website banner. DOC usually includes this, so we know where to look for it.

My offer was spend $6,800 for the additional 1%. Might have made it if I used it to pay my income taxes next month but am working on the spend for a Southwest Companion Pass right now.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but this deal is “spend $500 and get a 2500 point bonus.” Fidelity is a 5000 point minimum redemption, so you have to get another 2500 points to redeem anything.

Spend $500, now you have $25 bonus and $10 from base spend. You’re only at $35. You have to spend another $750 to get up to the redemption minimum.

So this deal is really spend $1250 get $50 back. Changes the 5% cash back to 4%, still pretty good.

Someone check my math.

Shaun, if your significant other (or even someone you know and trust) also has the Fidelity Card, you can transfer and combine points. You can then combine to get above the redemption minimum and then cash it out. In my case, both my wife and I got the $500 offer, so we will spend a combined $1,000 and get $70 (7% Back) with the 2% base spend and the 5% bonus.

I received a similar offer (with the same stock photo), but specifically for travel purchases:

As a valued Fidelity® Rewards Visa Signature® Cardmember, you’re eligible to earn up to an additional 2,000 Bonus Points! It’s simple. Just use your card during the 2-month promotion period from March 1 through April 30, 2018. Qualifying net purchases made on airline tickets, car rentals or hotel stays will earn an additional 1 Bonus Point per dollar spent (up to 2,000 Points) redeemable for cash back into an eligible Fidelity account! Be sure to enroll in the offer by March 31.

I have the Chase Sapphire Reserve, so the Fidelity offer is not at all appealing to me.

We use this card often (whenever we don’t have a higher reward card for a particular category) and have received the second promo offer a few times, but the targeted spend to activate the bonus is too high to make it worthwhile.

I have a $100 requirement before earning an extra 1% on up to $2000 – so actually not bad. Comes out to 6200 points on $2100 in spending => 2.952% cashback. I’ll probably make use of it as my first year of Alliant Visa Signature at 3% is ending and switching to 2.5% cashback.

I never receive any offers from them. It’s probably because I use the card almost every day.

Wife and I both received the spend $500 at 5%. The cards have been collecting dust. Will brush them off for this promo.

I think you have to spend$500 five tones making it only an extra 1%

It appears to be 5 purchases that need to be more than $500 total.
