I receive 2 direct deposits of $250 each per month. Is there a way to do the additional deposits of $500 per month by some money transfer?

I am not sure why this for sure is not worth it? Has anybody ever seen a free cruise that includes taxes and fees? That is pretty typical/expected. On most free gambling cruises you still have to pay taxes and fees. Yes there are exceptions (MSC), but then they blackout certain ships and say USA only. I did a free cruise offer like this for a timeshare presentation and it was a good deal even though I had to pay taxes and fees and even though I have access to interline cruise rates which are typically cheaper.

So does anybody have any specific details as to why this is junk? It has been a long time since I have seen cruises cheaper than $249 for 2 people (again not including taxes)! I admit I have seen cruises in this price range but they were definitely last minute and they were a few years ago after COVID.

I am surprised to see “bad deal”?

It just doesn’t feel as free once you work through the taxes, fees, and any accommodation changes you want to make. For example, a lot of these freebies are interior cabins and no drink package. I get that some people are fine with both, but either way the taxes/fees and upgrades to reasonable vacation accommodations can range from 450-750, without any serious bells and whistles. Takes away from that ‘free’ feeling pretty quickly

But aren’t those costs you would have with every cruise? You wouldn’t expect them to put you and your extended family up in a multilevel suite, pay for your excursions, and pay for whatever other upgrade you want. If you have ever done cruising before this is standard. They put 2 people up in their most basic accommodations and you pay for taxes and any extras. Timeshare free cruises are like this, gambling cruises are like this, etc. I know no matter how I board that ship free or paid I will have to come up with taxes. And they will be consistent across platforms (it isn’t just a made up number… As an example Panama canal cruises tend to be very expensive this way so I have learned to ignore them).

If you want to go on a cruise, to me this is a good deal and better than you will find anywhere else. Yeah if you are out looking for cash or a freebie and never plan to go on a cruise this might not be for you.

I do appreciate your thoughtful response though because I honestly couldn’t understand what the big “catch” was.

I’m curious how they will value this for 1099-INT purposes.

Probably based on brochure cruise rate, which nobody ever pays.

Lots of important details that make this less attractive in the FAQ’s including paying a travel agent fee’s, port fees, taxes, etc. Also only available for 175 dates.

To me it almost looked like one of those deals you get in the mail “You have won a free vacation!” They always end up not including flights, having fees, various other things. Still glad this was posted at least for awareness of the offer, and that it’s not worth it.
