[Expired][YMMV] Free Starbucks Gold Status After A Single Purchase

This deal has expired, click here for more Starbucks deals.

Looks like this isn’t available for everybody. Check your app to see if you’re eligible.

The Offer

  • Starbucks is giving users Gold status after just one purchase. Normally you have to spend $150 to earn 300 Stars to get gold. This status will last for one year

The Fine Print

  • Tuesday, March 20th only
  • Offer excludes members already at Gold level.
  • Excludes alcohol and Starbucks Card purchases.

Our Verdict

Even if you don’t go to Starbucks often, it’s worth getting the gold status. For example in the recent Chase Pay deal you got 300 Stars, usually this is enough for two free items but if you didn’t have gold status already you get gold status instead of the times. I imagine most readers already have gold status because of that and other free gold status deals. Don’t forget to take advantage of Starbucks bingo as well.

Starbucks app only allows minimum $10 reload. Does this not violate the no minimum for each credit card?

It means I can use the credit card for minimum $10 purchase. I can’t use the credit card directly to pay for the coffee.

What do you think?

keep in mind starbucks ap lacks 2 step security verification. Whether you use these features, or you’re like me and leave there use to others, the result is the same. – The Starbucks ap is very attractive for Criminals to hack. There are many reports of this. Ways to stay safe:

1. Make sure it has a unique password.
2. Do NOT leave a credit card on file. this is what thieves want!
3. Do not leave large balances of credit on your Ap. Spend them!

What’s the use off gold status if there are no stars to spend?

What a bunch of BS.

Hmm. I need 125 stars for a free item. Which means I need to spend $60 to get a $6 item free. So this is a 10% discount. I was frustrated with Starbucks. Not you. Clearly this is uses for me. Not going to spend $60.

I got gold status through Chase pay but i still need 125 stars but gift free item. This is Starbucks way of making people spend money on their shitty products.

Where does one sign up/complete this? I don’t see it in Chase pay. Just walk into a SB, buy something, and give them SB card – and its done? Is that screenshot from the SB app?

Usually, it’s any purchase, so you could buy one banana or one vanilla bean scone ($1.25). The offer is targeted, here is the fine print: Some restrictions apply. At participating stores. See Starbucks.com/terms for details. Make a qualifying purchase 3/20/18 at a participating Starbucks® store and receive Gold status for a year. Must pay with your registered Starbucks Card/App. Excludes alcohol and Starbucks Card purchases. Offer valid for one time use. This offer is exclusive to you and this Starbucks Rewardsâ„¢ account, and cannot be reproduced, transferred or used by anyone else.

Targeted? I don’t see this in my account. FWIW, I just created my account a few days ago and made only a single Chase Pay purchase (and haven’t yet received the 300 points).

I can’t find the offer in my iOS app so I guess it may be targeted.

Hm. My Chase promo hasn’t hit yet. Wonder if I do this this morning if I’ll then get the 300 stars from Chase Pay.

Where do you see this offer, BTW?

I made a Chase Pay purchase on 3/15 and my 300 stars posted late yesterday (3/19). Seems like you’d be in the clear for both.

I’d try it. If this hits prior to the 300 stars you’ll actually get to keep the 300 stars, if your stars hit before you are gold they will be used to make you gold and will reset at 0.
