Lenovo $50 Class Action Lawsuit
If you purchased a computer or tablet from Lenovo’s website, you could get a $50 cash payment from a class action settlement.
The lawsuit alleges that Lenovo engaged in a deceptive pricing scheme related to computers and tablets sold on its website, by portraying fictitious “Instant Savings” or “eCoupon” discounts. Lenovo denies that it violated the law or that its practices were wrongful in any way, but has agreed to settle the case to avoid the expense and uncertainty of litigation.
Submit a claim here to take part in the lawsuit. Note, in order to file a claim, you need a unique claim code found on the notice you should have received. If you never registered your device, you can call them up and process the request.
Who is eligible?
You are eligible to be included in the proposed $50 settlement if you purchased a computer or tablet from Lenovo’s website, other than a “ThinkPad” branded product, between December 1, 2014 and December 31, 2015.
Important Dates
- March 23, 2017 – preliminary hearing
- June 26, 2017 – final day to file a claim
- August 28, 2017 – final approval hearing
Final Thoughts
Easy $50 if you bought a Lenovo during that 13-month timeframe. Just takes a minute to file a claim. You can see other class action lawsuits we’ve covered here.

It just happened. I bought it from the official website, the purchase date was 11/28/2014 and the ship date was 12/1/2015. Should I have a try to call them?
I mean, the ship date was 12/1/2014
lmao the irony. I would use the ship day as purchase day. This is no different than pre ordering. You paid for something long ago but didn’t receive it until a certain date etc.
It requires mail/email notice. I purchased Y40-80 on 04/03/15 but never received such notice.

Pre-Claim Identification
If you received a Notice by mail or email, please enter the Unique ID or Claimant ID that appears above your name and address on the Mailed notice or at the top of the emailed Notice, and the first three letters of the name to which the Notice was sent.
Call the number and request to get the code by email. Since I purchased on the official website, they pulled up my information immediately and processed the request.
Now just waiting for the email. Thanks for the surprising $50 check!
The number to call 1-866-949-5174, type 7 for representative. Need to tell them which case you are referring to.
Nice, ty for sharing!
yep, thx for the info!
any way to submit a claim if bought within the time period but didn’t register therefore had no email or mail? still keep a receipt
yes, print the form and send it in. the online option is not the only option.
It requires a “Pre-Claim Identification” which we don’t have unless get mail from them
Ahh, didn’t realize. I’ll add that, thanks.
the “online” claim requires that information but not if you print out the form and send it in.
Damn, bought two in April 2014
