The Fine Print

  • Quantities are limited and the offer is only available while supplies last
  • The Gift Card Mall Visa Gift Card is issued by MetaBank®, Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc.. No Cash or ATM Access. Card can be used everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted in the U.S.

Our Verdict

The activation cost is $5.95, after the $3 discount it’s down to just $2.95. There is a shipping fee of around $10 for high-dollar orders; lower amounts have a free shipping option.

Go through a shopping portal for an additional 1% back on Visa gift cards. Topcashback specifically offers 1% back on Visa gift cards as do others, while some like Ebates exclude Visa gift cards. While the terms may exclude promo code orders from earning portal rewards, it’s worked in the past. If you’re new to any of these shopping portals, our appreciation if you sign up using our referral links found in this dedicated post. 

If all works out, it’ll cost around $498 for a $500 Visa gift card, an excellent deal.

I’ve never once got an order through with Giftcardmall, I don’t even try at this point. Looks like they are using a new code “cybervisa17”.

On the downside, I’m getting an error message “This transaction was not completed. The transaction was not submitted correctly, or has been declined by your card issuer. You can try again with a different card or review your payment information for any necessary corrections.” Getting it on a couple of different accounts. Anyone have experience with this?

Same here. Called the bank. They said that they are approving the transaction but then GCM tells the banks that the transaction is voided/cancelled.

Yeah, AmEx is sending me email alerts that they’ve approved large transactions so it’s not at their end. GCM seems to be canceling them before they complete. Annoying.

I think you’re safe on the cash advance front. I’ve ordered twice from GiftCardMall and paid with Amex and it shows up as regular purchase.

It probably won’t count towards minimum spend for the bonus but you get regular purchase points.

I ordered $7500 worth yesterday, went through with no problem. Save $45 on fees.

Isn’t that logical? Billing/shipping address match location, better chance your order goes through.

I always click not now when there’s a pop up about my location but my order(s) still go through.

I don’t think anyone has cracked the reason(s) on why GCM bans certain customers and/or specific orders. It will always be a guessing game on why there are those who can get in >$5K per order per account while those with smaller orders with just one account are cancelled.

I’d previously ordered VGCs from GCM and had no problem, that was earlier this year when I lived in AL. Now I live in DC and when I tried to take advantage of this offer, GCM canceled my order.

Have only recently gotten into VGC type MS so this is only my third order with GCM, each $1k. Had no problems submitting the order with it going thru, and tracking w/TCB. Another thou twds the Spark min, thanks!

I was about to order one VISA gift card and went through TopCashBack portal. but in shopping portal click was tracked but purchase amount was showing as zero.

don’t know cash back will work if I use promo code or not. order status is still showing as pending may be cash back will be updated once order is shipped.

It takes a few days for the order to be tracked, so check back next week and see if it’s there. After 7 or 10 days, you can submit a tracking request if it’s not in your account. You’ll need to upload a copy of the invoice and they’ll process it.

I did this for an order in October and they got it squared away pretty quick (less than a week I think).
