Topcashback has stoppedĀ paying cash back for Visa gift cards purchased from Giftcardmall.com.
Yazing also has a note on Giftcardmall that they won’t be paying out any more after April 30.
The change makes sense since Giftcards.com will stop paying out on Visa gift cards in May, and the both companies are owned the same corporate entity Blackhawk.
Mastercard gift cards will continue to earn cash back on Giftcards.com, but Giftcardmall doesn’t carry them.
Other portals like Befrugal, Mrrebates, and Simplybestcoupon are still showing cashback for Visa gift cards from Giftcardmall, presumably they’ll update their terms on May 1 when the change goes into effect. Ebates always had terms excluding Visa gift cards from cash back, I believe.

At least giftcardmall stop paying cashback on VISA GC since yesterday, I opened a case with Yazing this morning about the cashback tracking being 0 zero at below is the copy paste response
“Joe,
As you may know Giftcards.com and GiftCardMall let us know that they were going to reduce commission rates to 0% on Visa Giftcards at the end of the month.
We are still looking into exactly what happened, but it appears that our rate for Visa Giftcards was actually changed to 0% sometime during the day yesterday, and many of the orders yesterday came through at 0% commissions. We have sent a message to our contacts there to see if this can be rectified, but at this point I think we need to assume that we are at 0% for Visaās going forward.
Sorry for the bad news.
Adam ”
Proceed with caution it seems it is already a dead deal
UPDATE, Adam at Yazing was able to get the cashback going till the end of this month with both giftcardmall and giftcard.com; I got my cashback with giftcardmall for the transaction on 04/26/2018.
Joe
The cashback portal TCB is showing VGC’s from GC.com and Giftcardmall.com earning cashback now, but at lower 0.75% now. Can someone reconfirm? Is Giftcardmall.com earning 2% or not, like in past?
Ok so no even 1% on vgc through any cashback portals?
I look forward to more changes like this. The fewer avenues there are for exploitation the less collateral harm to things that benefit everyone else.
WTF?
Have to agree to a certain degree. GCM was great to get min spend and rack up some extra miles but people ordering 100k+ and getting 2% cashback definitely killed this deal. How was this profitable for TCB to pay out thousands of $ for fake spend. Just like people getting MOs worth 20k at WM and occupying a cashier for 30 min killed that option, greed killed this one.
sad day! Bought $2k yesterday morning and still don’t have confirmation from TCB.
how sad indeed. On the bright side, AAA mid-Atlantic usually starts their free visa gift card promo on May 1st each year…. (albeit with all sorts of limits) Will see if that bites the dust too.
3% cash back card + portal has paid for a few nice things..sad each of those components has fallen apart.
I placed an order yesterday and it’s tracking in topcashback @1% albeit minus fees and shipping.
same here, straight $70 on 7K purchase
All of a sudden my local WM getting aggressive about BB loads doesn’t seem as important as it did a couple of days ago.
My thoughts too. My WM has become a bit stricter on MOs these days and it was a pain when I was doing 30-40K per month on GCM. Now it is less of an issue.
$30-40K per month? Wow!! I thought that GCM has $15K monthly limit.
You could make multiple accounts for the same address, though that seems to be a moot point at this time.
Didn’t they stop paying out about a year or so ago for a couple of months then started back up again? I think I remember something like that in the past. Am I hallucinating?
I’m sure there will be sales from time to time and maybe even the 1% will come back.
Losing the 2% on custom cards is probably gone forever and that really sucks.
They had a couple weeks last year where they stopped, but it was a bug or unintentional because they were expecting the orders to track. This is different. They are explicitly excluding visa gift cards.
Well… this sucks. Once again, thought I had a pretty good plan going – then poof!
BTW, my GCM orders stopped tracking completely as of 4/19.
Weird. Mine tracked yesterday. I made 2 purchases, one on 24th one on 25th and they both tracked at TCB. The funny thing is after they change their website, it doesn’t track the fee portion, only GC amount tracked.
My GC.com and GCM order stopped tracking as of 4/19 too. Wondering why.
