[Expired] Ibotta: Get 10% Cashback on Bestbuy.com, Lowes.com, eBay.com; 6% HomeDepot.com (Exclusions Apply, Valid thru 12/3, Max $20 per Purchase)

Deal has ended, view more Ibotta deals by clicking here.

Update: I see the same offer is available on Ibotta for Lowes.com and eBay.com. There are a few other stores as well. I also see Homedepot.com with a similar 6% deal; that one has $100 limit. Each of these offers has their own set of inclusions and exclusions, for example the eBay offer includes computers while the Best Buy offer excludes them.

The Offer

Check your Ibotta app for the following offer:

  • Click-through Ibotta and shop at Bestbuy.com or Lowes.com and eBay.com to get 10% back from Ibotta on your entire purchase. Max $20 cashback per purchase.
  • Similar deal for Homedepot.com with 6% back; that deal has $100 max per purchase.

The Fine Print

  • Offer not valid on gift cards, services, warranties, laptops, tablets, desktops, video game hardware, Apple products.
  • Can not stack with coupons
  • Offer expires 12/3/21

Our Verdict

The fine print excludes lots of major categories like computers and tablets. Still, this can be a useful deal on headphones (non-Apple), computer accessories, and much more.

Max this out with a $200 purchase to get $20 cash back. The terms are a bit contradictory/unclear about whether you can do this offer more than once; my best guess is they are saying that you can do it more than once, but that you need a new click-through for each shopping trip. So you’ll want to break down your purchases in $200 increments if possible.

Here is my Ibotta referral link if you are signing up now; you’ll get $10 after submitting your first receipt (and I will get $10 too). Sounds like you need receipt submission for the $10 signup bonus, so this Best Buy deal might not work to trigger that bonus (?).

When they say ibotta app, does that include the website? Because when i go through the website it allows me to activate the deal and then gives me a tracking code as it loads the retailer site

With the exclusions, you may earn cashback on candy, appliances and movies. Yikes

IMHO I’d go with RMN or Rakuten despite being a little lower. I’m a long time ibotta user and they’ve gotten worse as they’ve gotten bigger but they’ve always been bad with online rebates.

I’m the same (long-time user, though maybe not as long as you, dunno), and on the semi-rare occasions when I’ve used them, I’ve never had a single issue. Guess it’s YMMV.

It’s probably one of those weird ones like TCB where some have the worst luck and others have no issues. They don’t allow any promo codes combined with their cash back and maybe that’s what has gone wrong on my end. My only surefire one is Rakuten with RMN a close second.

They’re especially bad with rebates that involve retailers with their own apps, because even if you start the shopping trip from within the app inevitably as you log in you will launch the retailer’s own app which disqualifies your purchase from CB in many cases.

iBotta is hit or miss with these.

Follow-up….I am 3/3 for these at three purchases on the bay. They take about 12-18 hours to track in the app. Haven’t been paid out yet but iBotta is usually good about that once the transaction tracks.
