- First Northern Credit Union is offering a bonus of $210 when you open a new checking account and complete the following requirements:
- Use promo code BD2020
- Receive a direct deposit
- $250 bi-weekly of your paycheck, pension, or government benefits into a First Northern checking account, this gives a $25 bonus per month (maximum of six)
- Minimum of $100 bi-weekly into a First Northern savings account, this gives a $10 bonus per month (maximum of six)
The Fine Print
- Mention Promotion BD2020.
- Promotion valid between 1/1/20 and 12/31/20 for select community and employer groups.
- Promotion cannot be combined with any other offers.
- Not available to existing First Northern Credit Union (FNCU) checking account holders or those closing their account within the last 90 days.
- 1.) For direct deposit bonus of up to $210, direct deposit a minimum of $250 bi-weekly of your paycheck, pension, or government benefits into a First Northern checking account (subject to approval) and/or a minimum of $100 bi-weekly into a First Northern savings account.
- Checking account direct deposits of $250 or more will each receive a $25 bonus (maximum 6 within 90 days of account opening) and savings account direct deposits of $100 or more will each receive a $10 bonus (maximum 6 within 90 days of account opening).
- All bonuses will be paid to your primary share account on or after 90 days of completing related requirements.
- This bonus is subject to taxation. It will be reported on 1099 as dividends.
- You must be in good standing.
- If your direct deposit stops or your checking account is closed within 6 months upon opening, we will deduct the bonus amount at that time.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Our Verdict
Not worth doing due to the hard pull and the fact you need so many direct deposits each month for six months. Because of all that we won’t be adding it to our best bank bonus page.
