  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 2x miles on all purchases made directly with Delta
    • 1x miles on all other purchases
  • Receive another 10,000 MQM after you spend $25,000 or more within a calendar year and an additional 10,000 MQM when you spend $50,000 or more within a calendar year for a total of 20,000 MQM (plus the sign up bonus)

  • $250,000 spend across all American Express Delta cards currently results in a MQD waiver through Diamond Medallion.  (previously $25,000)
  • Delta Sky Club access (can also bring two guests for $29 per person. Keep in mind you must be arriving or departing on a Delta marketed or operated flight to be eligible for access). Authorized users also get this access, previously they were $175 each but possibly free now?
  • Companion Certificate (domestic first class or main cabin round trip companion)
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 2x miles on Delta purchases
    • 1x miles on all other purchases
  • Holding this card is used as a tie breaker for upgrades

Our Verdict

We’ve seen a bigger bonus on the Delta Reserve. We’ve also seen the Platinum with the same 70,000 miles, but with 10,000 MQM and a lower minimum spend bonus. As far as I know this is the equal best offer on the Gold card, but I could very well be wrong about that (please correct me in the comments). None of the offers are particularly interesting but if you have a short term need for Delta miles then the Platinum/Gold would be your best bet. If you have any questions about American Express cards, read this post first. I likely won’t be adding any of these to our list of the best credit card bonuses.

Anyone able to pull the offers via their own referral links? Can’t get the increased offers on mine.

Same. I don’t think the higher SUBs are available on the business cards through referrals at the moment. I tried to self-refer and also tried other referral links.

The best Delta Biz Gold offer was 75k with 3k spend + $50 credit.

This is the highest Platinum offer; it’s 80k, albeit with a higher spend required.

The “you cannot get the bonus… if you’ve ever had the card before” link takes you to a post about the personal AmEx gold, which I have had before. This restriction is only applicable for the exact same product, correct?

My understanding is that I am eligible for this as a sole proprietor of a small business in my name as it is a different product. Technically I think it is even better because it doesn’t count toward 5/24 as a business card.

Additionally, I just realized that I might be eligible for the other tiers of personal cards. I fly Delta almost exclusively so the tentative plan is to get the business card for a year then Platinum Personal ($195) and end up with two years of priority boarding, checked bags, and two sets of bonus miles for a nominal AF. I probably would then keep the Platinum if I can get value out of the annual companion certificate.

Personal Amex Delta gold is a different product than Business Amex Delta gold so you would be eliglble for business if you’ve only had personal. Hopefully that is what you’re asking about.

Thanks, yes I kind of rambled a bit there but that is the main thing I wanted to confirm. The secondary question was whether each of the four personal cards were their own product so I could get platinum in a year or so and get the bonus even though I had personal gold maybe 8 years ago.

Yes, each of the personal cards is its own unique product as well and eligible for its own signon bonus.

I can’t pull the business card referral for the higher amount. Mine still shows 30k.

I just recently got a 75k/$3000 + $50 statement credit offer on the Delta Biz Gold which is higher than what you have in the verdict section (though it was targeted).

I only see 30k offer on delta gold business. Tried when logged in and while in incognito … I would have pulled the trigger on it for 100%. Been waiting for best offer on it. I closed my personal gold recently. After finding out I can write off yearly fee of business card.

Uri

My bad. I do see it… There is a a way to check if I am eligible for bonus right? Can anyone guide me through… I had the gold personal before but never the business

Joshua
Joshua

If you’ve never had the Gold Business, you are 100% eligible for the bonus, regardless of whether you had the Gold Personal before.

I got a mailer in a coupon book with this link. Has basically same offers currently available for personal and biz, but offers end 4/3/19. It’s an easier to compare format too:

Will MS’ing the MSR result in clawing back the Skymiles? Say 25% organic spend and 75% MS? Probably, right?

Burton
Burton

I don’t know how well they monitor this but I’d certainly have a backup plan. Hopefully they would just not give you the bonus vs clawing it back if they can see that you’ve only had $1k of organic spend. I would think the less hardcore approaches like paying taxes, utilities, store gift cards, etc would be fine but visa/mc/amex gift cards are clearly not, again assuming they can see that level of detail.

From the T&C under bonus miles section

“Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible purchases to meet the spend requirement do NOT include …cash advances, purchases of traveler’s checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, purchases of gift cards, person-to-person payments, or purchases of any cash equivalents.”

Hey Doc can you help clarify – am I able to get both the personal gold and personal platinum at the same time? Received targeted offers for each, don’t see anything in the language restricting it, but want to confirm. Thanks.

70k+50 Delta biz gold and 80k/6k+100 Delta biz platinum showing from my own referral links (referral bonus is 10k miles) now. William Charles Interesting thing is that I don’t see higher referral offers if I try to self-refer from my Amex login (these show 5k referral bonus and the lower 30k/35k offers), but these appear if I redirect from an offer (refer and earn 10k, friend earns 70k/80k) found in my Delta login. Urge everyone to check their Delta logins and snag the 10k self-referral as well as the higher bonuses.

Wow. Nice find. Thanks!

Any help for how to find this on Delta Login? I’ve looked around pre and post login and on the CC page under the Skymiles drop down. Thanks!

How does one refer from Delta login?

Ren

how do you refer from your Delta login? I haven’t been able to pull it up using what you described.

Anything to explain “if I redirect from an offer (refer and earn 10k, friend earns 70k/80k) found in my Delta login”?

ben

So what’s the referral link? The link posted on doc of credit takes me to the 30k bonus?

motty

What’s a good purchase I can make from home that would trigger statement credit? If I buy a Delta gift card, can I use that gift card to pay for award flight fees with delta alliance flights?

ChurningFast

In case anyone wants to get the increased offers (personal/biz) from their own referral links, you can generate the links by logging in here: https://idap-e3.americanexpress.com/referafriend/us/en/un/205576/login?extlink=US-MGM-DeltaFeb19PartnerSiteSkysquare
IT may be that you can do so only if you already have a Delta card, but not sure about that. William Charles
P.S. The above is not a referral link, only a url to generate your own link so you get both the increased bonus and the referral bonus. This link appears in my Delta login, but I’m not rewarded for sharing this. This is what I meant by Delta redirection above.

Any idea why this won’t let me self refer biz gold but I can self refer the other three?

William Charles It looks like the expiration date for this offer may have changed since your original post which listed the offer expiration date as May 1st. The offer expiration is currently April 3rd. According to the offer terms “If your application is not received by 04/03/2019, we will not process your application even if we later receive your application”.
(https://www.americanexpress.com/us/credit-cards/card-application/apply/partner/print/business-card/microsite/dal/gold-delta-skymiles-business-credit-card/ep-dal-2086?print=false#offer-terms)

The offers look like they’ve gone back to normal on delta.com/amex, but if you click on the offer terms they still state the elevated bonuses.

Bummer , should have read new comments – would have applied yesterday as planned.

They also killed the 6 months 0% as well
