Our Verdict
I believe the business offer is highest ever, though it does require adding an employee card. Previous best was 50,000 points. Barclays usually requests business documents as well, so that’s something to keep in mind (update: readers report this may no longer be the case). The nice thing is that this won’t report to your personal credit report.
For the personal Plus card, it’s usually 30,000, so this 50,000 deal is a nice increase, though we have seen that one higher at 60,000 points.
JetBlue points are worth between 0.97¢ & 1.89¢ and award flight prices are tied to the cash rate. That means 50,000 points is worth between $485 and $945 in JetBlue/Hawaiian flights, minus the $99 annual fee.
We will be adding these to our list of the best credit card bonuses.. As always if you have questions regarding Barclays credit cards, read this post first.

Any idea how long you have to wait after a Barclay shutdown to re apply again?
Reason for shutdown?
He applied for the Barclays Jetblue card
None given but I was funding USBank Buxx cards for a couple years with it. I was just an AU on the account. Following this closure, last year, I applied for a jetblue card, which I received. When I called to activate it, they told me my new account was closed because of past history with Barclays. I am somehow blacklisted with them. I get through the app process but they immediately shut me down. Oddly, jet blue thinks I have the card and I get the 10% rebate. (At least I did the first year). I fly JB frequently, this would be a useful card to me.
These cards are subject to 6/24.
6/24 is a soft rule so YMMV
Even if its a soft rule, I don’t remember seeing any DP’s of people 10/24 or more getting approved. So a lot of us don’t have a good chance.
Yeah.. not enough ppl mentioning they can’t get approved for this card here. If you do apply and get approved plz mention your X / 24 status.
DP: I was approved for the Aviator Biz last month with 11/24 but 0/12 and 5 inquiries/12 months on Transunion. I had to call recon after pending and got some questions on the nature of the inquiries. I told the rep I was trying to organize my expenses into different cards and she seemed okay with that and approved the card. She didn’t bring up the # of cards in the past 24 months. Some other DPs on reddit also indicate that it’s more #/12 that matters.
I received the previous bonus about 18 months ago and cancelled the card. Is there a certain amount of time I need to wait to receive the bonus again?
24 months (from cancellation??) it would seem. I was just denied a new Red Aviator. I had waited for what I thought was the requisite 6 months from shutdown (held that card for 13 months). Was told at recon that I couldn’t get the same card again for 24 months. I am 6/24 as well, not including business cards.
Little late but no. With barclays you get the bonus if you are approved. The issue is being approved.
Oh the timing!!!! Was just going to have P3 apply today.
P3? Jr.? Or something kinky going on?
“Barclays usually requests business documents”
What are they looking for?
Both times I applied for business card late last year, I was not asked for any business docs and was approved.
I think DoC is referring to the wording in the offer where the Employee Card will require documentation. I’ve got another Barclay Business card and no documentation was required (sole proprietorship with SSN). Now, it may be diff. if you use an EIN. However, I’m also following to see what exactly they require for the employee card. Even without it though, 50k for $1,000 spend is still better than the 40k offer, IMO.
I just recently applied for Red Aviator Business, and they instantly approved me, this was my first-time application with Barclay’s; however, I hold a business CIP and Business Amex Marriott Bonvoy. That said, I guess they only ask for documents if you don’t have any other business cards in your credit history YMMV.
and since those cards don’t report, how in the world would Barclay know you have them?
They still report to a business credit file, just not to your personal credit file.
no one mentioning how tough it is to get approved for barclays card for us churners? Gl if you apply.
5/24 780 FICO $80k income got approved, but only with a $2.5k credit line lol. No documentation required.
getting approved at 5/24 is not a unique DP
Oh relax. Just trying to help
So if Biz card doesn’t report to personal credit reports… safe to assume it doesn’t count towards Chase’s 5/24 count?
Yes correct
To avoid possible business documentations for adding the employee, would it be possible to sign up for 50k first and then add the employee (after approved and card activated) for the additional 10k bonus?
I added at application… granted I was approved w/o any additional documentation, but all it asked for was name DOB and address
instant approval, eh? How many cards (from all banks and from Barclays) have you gotten in the last year or so?
Adding an AU to the business card, will that result in it showing up on AU’s credit report?
Yes
I’m at 9/24 with a legit sole proprietorship. Just applied with SSN and requested an employee card for my P2. Got a “we need to call you for further information” message. We’ll see how this goes…
Any updates?
Nope, haven’t gotten the call yet…
Denied due to too many cards in past 24 months. I am at 9/24 according to TU.
Any data points on JetBlue/Barclays matching sign up bonus? We signed up last month for JetBlue Plus at 40K.
A couple of years ago when I signed up for a 40k a few weeks before 60k came out, I saw DPs of status matches over secure message being rejected, so I wrote a letter asking for a match. They granted it.
Lots of DP for Barclays matching offers, but has to be within 30 days, AFAIK. They do this routinely for the AAdvantage cards and Arrival+ they provide. I imagine JetBlue co-branded would be the same. It may take 1-2 billing cycles for the adjustment to post though.
I applied for JB biz 4/5… got the 40k bonus. Then requested a match via secured message to new offer 5/2… just got the match yesterday.
These days, it seems like the rule with Barclays is no more than 3 current personal cards max with them and 1 biz card max with them. Anyone currently carrying more of their cards than that?
I’ve got 2 biz cards with them.
Biz count towards 5/24?
No
Curious if the biz is available for people over 6/24.
just a data note. applied (sole prop.) for biz version with no employee cards and was instantly approved with a CL of 14k.
What’s your x/24 status?
I am around 9/24
