Our Verdict

I believe the business offer is highest ever, though it does require adding an employee card. Previous best was 50,000 points. Barclays usually requests business documents as well, so that’s something to keep in mind (update: readers report this may no longer be the case).  The nice thing is that this won’t report to your personal credit report.

For the personal Plus card, it’s usually 30,000, so this 50,000 deal is a nice increase, though we have seen that one higher at 60,000 points.

JetBlue points are worth between 0.97¢ & 1.89¢ and award flight prices are tied to the cash rate. That means 50,000 points is worth between $485 and $945 in JetBlue/Hawaiian flights, minus the $99 annual fee.

We will be adding these to our list of the best credit card bonuses.. As always if you have questions regarding Barclays credit cards, read this post first.

I applied via the Jet Blue app as soon as the 50k Personal Card offer banner popped up. It took me to a page that said the offer was currently unavailable. There was a link taking me to their current offers, which only shows the current 40k SUB.

Looks like it’s back down to 50k only for the Business Card and 40k only for the Personal.

Are you checking on mobile?

FYI – the “Apply Now” button on mobile takes me to the terms and conditions, and won’t let me advance to an application.

On mobile, the Business card page does show 60,000, but Apply Now will just show you T&C, not the application. It has the identical link that the T&C link does. So you can’t actually apply.

Somewhat differently but equally uselessly, the Plus card will show 50,000 on mobile, but Apply Now will take you to an application page that clearly says 40,000.

You can see the higher bonuses and broken Apply Now buttons on a desktop browser, too, just by narrowing the window enough to make the site think it’s “mobile”.

Either it’s a bug that it’s showing the higher numbers for mobile, or it’s a bug that they don’t have the correct links for Apply Now for either Plus or Business when on mobile.

Good catch… the offer actually increases on the fly if you make your window smaller (on desktop) and decreases again when enlarged… kinda hilarious, almost definitely a bug.

BTW, bring back the blog!!

(1) This is nuts; Ivan and Tom are correct. The offer is 60,000 not only on mobile — but also on desktop, if you make your window small enough.

(2) If I apply on (a) Desktop or (b) Mobile for the Business version, do you think Barclays will honor the 60,000?

This is so odd. It’s still showing 60,000 points on mobile but the apply link takes you to the T&C. Has anyone contacted Jet Blue or Barclays to see if they’ll honor the 60,000 point offer?

Just closed my JB business couple days ago. Too soon to reapply?

The only offer I see is for 40,000 points for the personal version. Where do you find the link for the 50k?

Is it possible Barclays has finally made at least some of its cards once per lifetime like Amex? I just got this in the mail regarding new terms on the JetBlue Business card:

“From time to time, we may offer bonuses of TrueBlue points or other incentives to new JetBlue Business Card cardmembers in connection with an application for a new account. These bonuses and /or incentives are intended for persons who are not and have not previously been JetBlue Business Card cardmembers. You understand and agree that you may no longer be eligible for any bonuses and/or incentives in connection with a new JetBlue Business Card account after this Account is opened. If you receive a bonus or incentive for which you are not eligible due to your status as a current or former JetBlue Business Mastercard cardmember, we may revoke the bonus or incentive, or reduce your TrueBlue points by the amount of the bonus or incentive, or charge your Account for the fair value of the bonus or incentive, in our sole discretion.”

Not sure if it’s enforced or not, but it’s the first time I’ve noticed such language with Barclays.

Does the “employee” card show on that person’s *personal* credit report? (thinking of how it may affect 5/24 if at all).

No, it does not, in the case of Barclay and this card. Not sure about other cards.

Just got denied the JetBlue personal. Called Recon and the rep told me it’s because of 10 cards in 24 months and there was nothing he could do to override that . That Barclays “wanted to see some time away from applications in that time frame”. I might try the Business card.

Anyone know posting time for SUB? They say 4 to 6 weeks so I’m guessing first statement but I’m trying to book a last minute trip to Mexico and I’m hoping it posts soon.

My authorized user 10k bonus posted at the first statement close, but my 50k bonus didn’t post at that time even though as far as I can tell I met the $1000 spend requirement ($1000 spend + the $99 annual fee). Hopefully it’ll post at the close of the second statement.

My 50k point bonus posted on my second statement, a full month after the statement containing the $1k spend.

Also, a PSA/reminder for the few people out there like me who don’t have a use for JetBlue points but are still mourning the loss of Amtrak as an UR exchange partner, you can transfer JetBlue to Amtrak via Points.com at a 2:1 ratio (max 50k JetBlue per calendar year), so this card has a pseudo 25k or 30k Amtrak signup bonus, a nice offer for a business card.
