Kohl’s Rebate Deals: Get up to 40 Small Appliances Free After Rebate & Stacking

The Offer

Direct Link / Rebate Link (links in this post contain our affiliate link, remember to use a shopping portal instead)

  • Kohl’s is offering a $12 rebate on eight different small appliance items
  • Each item can get up to 5 rebates per product for a total of 40 rebates
  • The original rebate receipt or packing slip must be dated between 09/27/17-10/01/17

Altogether you can max this out by getting a $480 Visa prepaid rebate card from Kohl’s. Or just buy the few items that  you need.

The items are: hand mixer, slow cooker, toaster, coffee maker, blender, chopper, can opener, electric knife. The items are on sale for $17 instead of $30, and the $12 rebate brings down the cost to just $5 each. See below for more stacking.

Here’s the list of links:

Stacking the Deal

Shipping is free with $75 order. Alternatively, you can use store pickup to get it free.

If you max out all 40 items, you’ll pay $577.66 (plus sales tax) after promo code discount. You’ll get back $480 with the rebate. You’ll also get $130 in Kohl’s Cash, $25 in Yes2You Rewards, and 2,308 UR points (if you use the UR portal), plus 577 credit card points.

Our Verdict

Overall it should become profitable even without getting any benefit from the items themselves, albeit with the hassle of dealing with submitting the rebates.  Some people love these deals, others hate them. I would consider doing it if I needed the products, but I’ll pass on reselling. They could be nice gift items for the holidays too, if you don’t need them for personal use.

Obviously, wait till Sunday if paying with Freedom.

I took advantage of the deal using a gift card that I bought for an 8% discount. I also used Citi Double to buy the gift card. If I count the Kohl’s cash as cash, I made a $1 plus on the deal for 5 appliances.

Maybe they are junk but it didn’t cost me anything so no problem for me.

Exact idea that I had!

Waiting till Sunday may work, but if you are ordering online, if the original receipt isn’t dated Sunday, you could lose out on the rebate.

The reviews for practically all of these items are terrible. Apparently they’re all flimsy, have a tendency to die soon after you start using them, and fail to perform their main function well.

Apparently this brand, “Toastmaster”, can’t even make a halfway decent toaster. You’d think they’d at least get that one right.

a $17 appliance failing!? Color me shocked. Nonetheless free is free I guess. Rebates are ok but the Kohls cash I wouldn’t value at 1:1

Time isn’t free. Everything you do or don’t do has an opportunity cost.

F*** it, I’m going in.

Naturally, folks who get lemons are highly motivated to vent their frustrations. Much understood. I almost feel guilty for not writing a counter-review on some of them…. That electric knife, for example, we never would have bought one — so un-natural when there’s a man in the house to do the manual carving duties…. except, well, I was quite impressed…. Carved up two turkeys, a big ham, even a roast with the thing…. Seemed sturdy enough. Same for the blender, the coffee maker, even the toaster …. well, still working….. functional for those just starting out, and even those of us just hanging on….. 😉 and for the price?

anyway, thanks for the heads up doc. Concur that re-selling may not be worth the hassle….. yet among understanding/grateful friends….. not bad.

the rebate requires a UPC label to be removed from the box so gifting it would also require the gifter to explain why the box has a hole in it where the upc label was

anthonyjh21
anthonyjh21

Yep and last time around I remember reading some people received a box with the UPC removed, probably a return/scam. Too much PITA potential here for me.

can the rebate be submitted online?

Lantean

I tried thru rebatesHQ but it’s not showing there… maybe it will show there starting Monday but I doubt it.
Try searching previous threads on SD to see if the rebate eventually popped up on rebatesHQ, i can’t remember anyone mentioning it but I may be wrong.

Has anyone ever done all 40 products? Product quality aside, I’m curious if it was a successful experience? Kohl’s rebate center said all UPC/receipts can be submitted on one form.

Fwiw, I don’t want the crap but would love to give it a try.

I have this 3 times before. Items have no resell value. No issues with the rebate though

Spencer

Great opportunity to give these items to charity this holiday season. This is Kohl’s roundabout way of “giving back” to the community.

alternatively you can buy kohls giftcards at cardcash.com and save an extra 7.5%……then use your ink card to save another 5%. I decided to do it this way instead of waiting on the freedom card.

How the heck do you keep it from cancelling? Tried everything under the sun, and nothing worked. Tried calling customer service, but they are Philippine based and use English as a second language so they are worthless.

Last year people got codes from USPS to make it a money maker. If those still exist I might give this a go. Anyone have some discount codes?

There is a non-profit in my town that gets the homeless off the street (and families out awful of week to week hotels) and into reasonable accommodations. They vet the recipients, and in each case they are good people who has one too many shit hands dealt to them. Even though these products aren’t of the highest quality they’d be awesome for someone who is just starting to set up housekeeping. If you are so inclined, it might be worth it to see if there is a similar organization where you live. I doubt they’d care if the UPC was removed. 😉 I’m going to work on doing this offer tonight. Thanks, DOC!

Liz

Yeah I work with a friend who has organized collections of items just like this for Syrian refugee families in our area. This kind of stuff would be perfect for them. They come here with nothing.

How awesome! Love it! 🙂

I admire the impulse, but donating really bad quality appliances to people, even if they are poor, does not sit well with me. Do we expect them to be grateful for non-functional and potentially dangerous gifts? Please read the reviews; if it isn’t good enough for you to buy for a friend, it’s not good enough to give to a stranger. Crap is crap; it’s not perfect for anybody. The only one of these which looks worthwhile and practical is the slow cooker.

Elena

I can see where you’re coming from, but at the same time when someone is really broke, even seconds would do. A lot of the people who really don’t have much would rather have five flimsy appliances rather than one high quality unit, it’s just a fact. It’s not the matter of one vs. another but rather something vs. nothing. IMO
I’m going for it.

scott
scott

Have you actually used them? I bought all of them last year — several of each — kept many — and shared rest among family and friends…. (and yes, some very much on thin margins…) Ok, so these are not top of the line whatever….. Yet not one of them failed us yet that I know of…. and even if they did, was up front with all that hey, these cost me nothing except the wee time for the rebates and such…. so hope they last…. (and don’t recall anybody snarling at me for not getting them whatever the cooks for Louis Linton use… )

Rather….. churlish to take a swipe at those willing to go through the trouble to try to make life a bit better — even in the most humble way. (ps, if these really were “dangerous” as you insinuate…. they wouldn’t be on the market… this isn’t Rose’s)

William Charles

Great work, Marshbell. I love when stuff posted on this site can be used for positive change.

I did this deal last year for a bunch of slow cookers and rice cookers for the food rescue org I volunteer with. They were THRILLED to get them because they teach cooking/nutrition classes at public housing communities and parent-training groups. They also do programs in the office and only have a makeshift kitchen. If they want more, I’ll max it out for them again.

Thanks for the heads-up!

fyi, I dont believe that the $130 in kohls cash is correct, I only earned $110

Randy

Yup – 110 here as well.

Careful with appliances that aren’t well built. I’ve audited fire investigations. Vast majority of house fires are appliance related, faulty appliances that is, most offenders toasters and coffee machines. Not worth the savings, wouldn’t even give them away. Too risky. Buying crap, you are playing with fire.

Looks like i found some donations for the victims in Puerto Rico……doin my part!

This is a great idea if you have somewhere to drop it off, otherwise I am guessing the shipping would be a killer.

Deborah
Deborah

I have to disagree…it’s not a great idea….without electricity, these are useless.

And with electricity, they are almost all crap.

Please donate something which will be actually useful…like money to a reputable aid organization.

Nicole
Nicole

why are you so negative about this? people are just trying to help…

Ferris
Ferris

Lol I think he is just realistic. Just imagine before electricity, a bunch of people receiving 8 Toastmaster crock pots…they are completely useless. There is no difference here. Puerto Rico’s power will be out for 8 months at least.

Hans
Hans

Limit 5 per household only, so you will need 8 different addresses in order to get all 40 rebates. I don’t think that is very realistic.

JuicyJosh
JuicyJosh

Per product x 8 products = 40

Come on now. You know DoC does all the figuring out for us and thats why we love em.

Does anyone have khols cash they are willing to part with cheaply ?

Tom
Tom

Okay, question…..how do those of us who take advantage of this deal end up using the visa gift cards? I guess I would load them to Amazon but not sure that is really the best? Any other ideas

JakeFromStateFarm
JakeFromStateFarm

They are MetaBank VGCs so you can use them for MOs at WM or most grocery stores as the last four numbers of the card are the PIN for debit purchases.

I’ve done this deal a few times now and I’ve had troubles with the rebate submissions each time. I’ve always gotten the full refund amount in the end, but it’s been a hassle and the rebate always takes 6-8 weeks at the earliest. Just something I think others should know going in if this will be your first time doing the Kohl’s Toastmaster Deal.
