The Offer

Check your emails for a Best Buy Mystery Reward:

  • Get between $5 – $5,000 in a Best Buy certificate free; go to Best Buy to verify how much your reward is worth

If you got bar code: 7312 it’s a $5 reward. These rewards come as part of the Best Buy Rewards program.

The Fine Print

  • Valid through 11/10/17
  • In-store only, not valid online
  • You must print this page to scan your Mystery Reward certificate in store. (Barcodes cannot be scanned from a mobile phone.)
  • Redeem your certificate in a single transaction with a total purchase price equal to or greater than the value of the certificate
  • Planned Offer Distribution/Odds: (35) 250,000 My Best Buy Points (1 in 400,000). (350) $500 Offer Certificate (1 in 40,000). (1,750) $100 Offer Certificate (1 in 8,000). (3,500) $50 Offer Certificate: (1 in 4,000). (8,750) $20 Offer Certificate (1 in 1,600). (13,985,615) $5 Offer Certificate: (1:1)

Our Verdict

Most likely you’ll get $5 which is still free money if you shop occasionally at Best Buy or if you have other Best Buy Rewards certificates to use up. Let us know if you got the $5,000.  🙂

I’m mystified (pun intended) as to why I didn’t get this offer as I usually get Best Buy offers, and this one seems to be highly available judging from around 10 different SD threads which were started about it.

There’s also an Amex Offer at Best Buy currently.

I did not get a mystery offer at all; however, I just got this e-Mail offer:

Spend $800 or more on airline, hotel or entertainment purchases this holiday season with your card and get a $40 reward certificate. Don’t delay—click below to activate this offer and shop by December 25, 2017.

Chuck,

After you didn’t reply back to me I decided to test it myself and successfully purchased a Whole Foods gc at Best Buy and applied my $5 Mystery Reward toward it.

It certainly is not hard coded against 3rd party gc.

I was looking the terms and it excludes best buy gift cards, as well as visa and MasterCard gift cards, explicitly but it doesn’t mention others like eBay. Anyone successfully used for these type gfs?

Since when? Best Buy Rewards used to always work for Ebay, Shell, etc. gc.

I haven’t tried in a couple of years but hadn’t heard that it changed.
