This offer is showing for online purchases (use the Kroger affiliate link for giftcardmall and input you Kroger number at checkout), and there is reportedly a sign showing in stores as well. No digital coupon is needed – just scan you Kroger card.
Interestingly, the online picture shows Amazon as one of the options, apparently because of Amazon’s streaming and gaming services. Sounds like any Amazon gift card will earn 4x points – please confirm in the comments if you try it out in-store or online.
Update: Only the Amazon instant video gift cards (pictured) and Amazon Kindle gift cards will earn 4x fuel points; ordinary Amazon gift cards will not.
Double Points on Weekends this Summer
We already posted this offer a couple weeks ago, but we’ll add it here again as a reminder since it’s valid the entire summer.
- Get double fuel points on weekends the entire summer through July 31
- Weekends are defined as Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Fuel points on gift cards will not be doubled; you’ll get the regular 2x as usual, but it won’t be doubled to 4x. Fuel points on ordinary purchases will be doubled and earn 2x per dollar instead of 1x per dollar.
Our Verdict
Good to see fuel points deals now which pairs beautifully with the 5x rewards using the Chase Freedom card for Q2 2016.
To maximize the deal even further, remember that you can get free cell phone service with Kroger when you earn fuel rewards points; no points are used up with this benefit, it’s just an additional free perk which you get from fuel points, aside from the free gas.
Points Details
- Usually, every 1000 points gets you a discount of $1 per gallon with a 35-gallon limit, a max value of $35 per 1000-points. These details do vary by store and region.
- Usually, Kroger fuel points deals are the same at all Kroger-affiliated stores like Fry’s, Ralphs, etc.
