Kroger 4x Fuel Points on Gift Cards until April 18th

The Offer

Direct Link

  • Kroger stores are offering 4x fuel points on gift cards through April 18th with digital coupon; unlimited use

The standard deal at Kroger stores is 2x fuel points on gift card purchases, and they’ll occasionally release offers like this one to get 4x fuel points. The deal should be valid at Kroger and all other Kroger-affiliated stores, like Ralph’s, Smith’s, Fry’s, etc. Check out your online account to find the coupon at your local store and load it to your card.

Additional Details

All third-party gift cards seem to be included in this offer, but not Kroger gift cards. In the past, there have been mixed reports on whether fixed-denomination Visa/MC/Amex gift cards worked to trigger the bonus fuel points. The terms imply that they do work, but it’s YMMV in practice.

Usually, every 1000 fuel points will get you a discount of $1 per gallon with a 35-gallon limit, a max value of $35 per 1000-points. (These details do vary by store and region.) If you buy $250 in gift cards and max out the 35-gallons, it’ll end up a 14% discount on the gift cards.

To maximize the deal even further, remember that you can get free cell phone service with Kroger when you earn fuel rewards points.

Our Verdict

4x is always nice. This deal is especially nice being that it lasts for two full weeks. It’s an opportune time to rack up grocery store spend since Chase Freedom currently offers 5x there this quarter.

There’s also currently a digital coupon to get 10% off a fixed-value Google Play gift card through April 15th. This should stack with the 4x fuel points.

for me, will buy fixed vgc enough for fuel discount thru end of may; will wait to see if safeway/randall’s may at times offer a $10 discount on their variable GCs later in the quarter to buy

assume u may be new to this…1 way is to get a prepaid acct like serve / bluebird then load the GCs at WM; if not, buy a MO with split pay there (up to 4 swipes) to help lower the MO fees

Yes new, so appreciate the guidance. so i can get MO at WM and can ask for option to split payment over 4 cards? I thought it was only 2……4 would be better…..kindly reconfirm and what is the max no. once can split?

And the Kroger VGC or MC GC’s can be used at WM for MO or to load Serve/BB?

I’ve had no problems in similar promotions, earning Kroger 4x fuel (& phone) points when purchasing the Visa (and Mastercard) $100 gift cards. Very nice this time to stack with 5x towards Chase Freedom spend.

It is correct to emphasize that variable load visa gift cards will not count towards Kroger 4x fuel points promotion. However, in my own past experience, such purchases (up to $500 even) will count towards the Chase Freedom 5x spend.

(that said, of course, not everyone will be comfortable with the fees on such visa & mc cards…. I often will load up at such times on Amazon, netflix, fuel and restaurant cards….. (and oh my yes, watch for stackable discounts on select merchat gc’s — when all the stars align, major ms opportunities.)

So if one buy’s Netflix or other store merchant’s cards (fixed denomination$100 or $200), then one can trigger both 4x FP and 5x UR points.

If i buy $100 or $200 (if available) MC or VGC, then what is the best and easiest way to liquidate them?

Just curious, do you know if you can use a Kroger gift card at the fuel pump? I know you don’t get the 4x fuel rewards on Kroger cards, but I’m looking to maximize my Chase Freedom card 5% grocery store category this quarter.

I have been valuing Fuel Points at 1% cashback. Seems that it depends on how much gas you can get in your car per fillup. Anyone else have a better way to value these?

The value of a fuel point in cents is number of gallons you can fill times 0.1. So if you fill 20 gallons, you’d be getting 2 cents a point- (eg. if you redeem 1000, you’d save $20 on your fillup, 2 cpp). This only applies to fuel points that are in increments of 100, since points are worthless in groups of less than 100. It also assumes the price of Kroger gas is what you would have other

Kroger allows a maximum fill up of 35 gallons per redemption, so the maximum value is 3.5 cpp if you can take advantage of this, either with a big car, fueling two cars in one fill up or using gas cans. If you’re expecting a steady stream of a lot of fuel points over the months it may be worth investing in those gas cans.

The Google offer says “Save 10% on a Google Play Gift Card when you buy ONE (1) or more Google Gift Cards.” So does this apply to one Gift Card or as many as you want in one purchase?

It’s just one card, I checked.

It will be pretty painful to buy $100 or $200 worth of $1500 total to meet Freedom 5% CB and try to liquidate that many smaller denomination giftcards which could be anywhere from7 to 15 cards ($200 or $100 cards).

How on earth can one liquidate that many and also fee for each card will be there too. when buying.

Does this work on Kroger store gift cards, or only 3rd party gift cards?

Would 4x Fuel points work with Chase freedom 5x?

Can it be doubled up with if i buy a fixed denomination $500 Visa or MC GC at Kroger?

4x Fuel points comes from Kroger, Freedom 5x is from Chase. They work in parallel.

There is no fixed denomination $500 visa or mc. The largest is $200. The variable ($20 – $500) cards will not get fuel bonus.

$1500 in giftcards redeemed for 5x UR+ 4X fuelpoints +4X (iwireless rewards)= 7500 UR+ 6000 fuelpoints+ $60.00 in phone credit.

Redeeming UR at chase for 1.5cpp (conservative), fueling 35 gallons a fill= $112.50+$210+60.00= $382.50. Over 25% back, if you’ve got the fuel needs.

Which Giftcards are best to buy to meet both:-

1) $1500 At chase 5% CB
2) 4x Fuel points?

And how to liquidate them ( the purchased GC’s) too?

April
April (@guest_382665)

Chuck Dear, If i buy $100 giftcard (visa of MC), then i have to buy 15 different cards of $100 each….and pay $4 fee per card, meaning $60 to $75 worth fees to get the 15 cards. Wouldn’t that be too expensive?

And it is easy to liquidate $ 500 GC x 2 cards = $1000 at WM or PO to get MO.

How can one liquidate each card worth $100 to buy MO? Making cashier do 10 transactions to buy $1000 MO would be disastrous, right?

Will appreciate your wisdom and knowledge in what to do, how to do, in best possible way. Thank You in Advance.

U did not factor the fees to be paid for buying $100 or $200 cards, as each has a $4 to $5 fee to buy which would add up significantly for $1500 worth of cards…. bummer

If i buy a fixed denomination $500 MC or VGC will 4x work?

If it does then double whammy with 2nd Quatter Chase Freedom 5% CB for which Kroger is included right?
