What Is La Quinta Returns Redeem Away?

Redeem Away lets you redeem your La Quinta Returns points for every day purchases made on the linked Visa card. You can redeem points for the following purchases:

  • Quick Service and Casual Dining Restaurants – like Starbucks, McDonald’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, Applebee’s, Olive Garden, Chili’s
  •  Bookstores – like Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble
  • Grocery and Drugstores – like Kroger, Walgreens, CVS
  • Club and Discount Stores – like Costco, Sam’s Club, Target, Walmart

Your purchase must be at least $1 and can be up to a maximum of $100 to be eligible, you’re also limited to $3,600 over a 365 period and $300 over a 30 day period.

Our Verdict

This has been offered twice before (here and here). Keep in mind points now transfer to Wyndham at 1:1 rate and Wyndham has a flat award rate of 15,000 per room per night so this is 1/10 of a free night.

Worked but they only allow points to transfer to Wyndham in increments of 1000. So 500 points left over in my La Quinta account.

worked. Signed up same day (today) for la quinta accoutn, linked card, used google voice number for “mobile number”. Replied to text with “BONUS”. 5 minutes later points were in account.

Also sent an email to status match from spg/marriott to la quinta to match all the way to wnydham platinum. Brilliant!

What status matching from spg/marriott you are talking about? Does LaQuinta match to any program status? Please share the info. Thanks a lot!

Guys, if you get the “does not allow enrollment” message, just call. It’s because your account was in an inactive state. They fix that immediately.

No big deal!

+1
Tried to enroll and got error messages. Call in and they said it was because the country code for my address somehow said ZZ instead of US. They said its a common problem due to the system. They fixed it, I tried again and got the 1500 points in my account instantly.

I logged in first to my LQ account, then pasted in the link provide above, added my mobile number, added a Visa I never use (because I don’t want to actually redeem for purchases!), and after I completed the online process I got a text message on my phone immediately. I replied BONUS in uppercase (I don’t know if case matters), and within a minute after that I got a text confirmation that I was enrolled saying I’d get the bonus points within 48 hours. However, the website didn’t update, it still says “please reply back to the SMS message”. But then I clicked on My Activity, and it already shows the 1500 points and they’ve been added to my total already. So that was quick! Thanks for alerting me to this!

did you already have a LQ account? or did you create one recently then link with Wyn? not sure if it matters, but im going to assume legacy LQ accounts have a better chance of success.

Yes, I’ve had both an LQ account and a WR account for years.

Is it just me, or is this rewards program really confusing?

It looks like you can only transfer in increments of 1,000. Is there a way around this, or an easy way to earn another 500 La Quinta points?

I enrolled on the website and it says I have to reply the text message, which I never received. Not sure what goes wrong.

It worked, but only from a desktop/computer, you will not get the enroll option from a mobile device

I switched to desktop mode on my phone, and was able to sign up. But I haven’t gotten any SMS texts for me to reply back to.

How long did it take for you to get the text, after you signed up?

I got the same message. Baffling. Insofar as I know, the only thing I did was change my number from being listed as “home” to “mobile.” Because it wouldn’t let me do anything otherwise. Great IT.

Same here. Changed number from home to mobile and I got the same message.
