Our Verdict

This offer is being sent out to some via email, but has a public link so anyone should be able to do it. Standard offer on the card is 75k/$3k. This isn’t the first time they’ve offered 100,000, but it is the recent high on the card. We have seen this available via referral in the past, so might be worth waiting to see if it becomes available there to help a friend gain on the deal.

Keep in mind, many of us won’t be eligible for the bonus due to lifetime rules, see the post New Chase/American Express SPG/Marriott Rules Are Now In Place for more details.

Too bad those things won’t mean a thing for most of us..for me even an offer with no lifetime language won’t help due to full slots and 2/90

direct link doesn’t seem to work….

$300 statement credit with a $125 annual fee ?

Paul
Paul

That’s copied incorrectly from the high annual fee personal card.

Rhybon
Rhybon

Yep, the $100 Ritz-Carlton / St. Regis credit was also incorrectly copied, as it’s applicable only to the high-fee personal card and not this card.

I was about to say, regardless of the bonus that would be a steal!

wow indeed. (it’s there in big bold sub-headings too)

This appears to have been included erroneously

Andrew D

I agree it appears included but it is missing from the detailed Benefit Terms. Seems like a typo.

On further inspection, notice the checkmark on the left and the lack of checkmark on the right for the business card. Very misleading.

RMM
RMM

It is not included. It is included for Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant only (there is a check mark against Brilliant and “-” against Bonvoy Business

I don’t think this is correct. Looking over the offer, … there is a check on the left side (under the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant terms), but there is a dash on the right side (under the Marriott Bonvoy Business terms).

Does anyone know if the old amex spg card have the same perks as the newly issued bonvoy card ? Thanks

OLD SPG biz cards were renamed after this amex biz bonvoy card and all the perks were updated to the new card perks

It’s available via referral, too — FYI.

Not seeing it. What are you referring from?

Update: Not showing on BBP. Seeing it on BGR.

Moonpies

Saw it through Personal Platinum. I guess it’s not on all of the cards.

TommyBoy

The Business card DOES NOT earn Platinum Elite status after making $75,000 in eligible purchases, and as others have pointed out the Business card also DOES NOT get $300 travel credits.

Very poorly worded promo from Amex.

Plus, get 0.0% introductory APR on purchases for 6 months.

This could make it a little easier to prepay some bills to hit $5k MSR in 3 Months and payoff over 6.

Obviously it was better when the first year’s annual fee was waived, but that’s over for good I guess…

Man — couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. Booking an event at a Marriott and the 130K that we can get with just a $5k deposit + the 20K I get for referring is 150K points plus we can wait 6 months to pay it off and keep the $5k in a high-yield savings account. Net positive money-wise even with the non-waived annual fee.

Has there ever been a clear-cut conclusion as to how long the AMEX “lifetime” rule really looks back? I opened this card exactly 6 years ago, and closed it 5 years ago; I know people have been throwing around 7 years as a potential limit. If I don’t get the popup, can I assume I’ll get the bonus?

I’d like to know the answer as well 😉

I went the Incognito route and was instantly approved.

However in the past several months, whenever I attempt to apply for an AmEx card, I get the “you are not eligible for the welcome offer” pop up box when applying for cards (not in igcognito). Including an attempt yesterday.

Does the incognito effectively bypass the pop up? Should I be concerned about receiving the welcome bonus?

no …if popup isnt there, you are good as long you meet the offer terms..

When did you last have the SPG Biz card? Did you receive an e-mail invite for this card? In other words, were you targeted for the app?

Read through DOC eligibility but it does not outline the Amex Bonvoy cards eligibility.
Does Amex SPG Biz card make lifetime ineligible?

Anyone know if I can get this for a second time using an EIN?

No, you can’t. It’s based on social security number.
