New Coin Deal This Thursday ($400 In Spend + Profit)

Tomorrow the US Mint will be launching a new limited edition Limited Edition 2020 Silver Proof Set. You can purchase two sets per household. Each set costs $201 and there is a $4.95 shipping charge. If you purchase two sets your total cost will be $406.95. Some coin resellers are offering to purchase the coins for $406.95 + some profit for yourself.

I always recommend locking in a price with a reputable seller before making the purchase, that way you’re not stuck with coins you don’t want that might drop in price. You can also use a credit card to purchase these coins, so it can be a nice way to meet minimum spend requirements. Remember that American Express will consider precious metal coins as a cash advance starting January 15, 2021. Deal goes live Thursday, December 10th – at 12:00PM ET

PFS is offering to cancel orders for those who are still seeing “Processing” as their status

I’m still seeing “processing”. Does that mean my order will inevitably be cancelled?

¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ No idea. I imagine it’s just taking a while for them to get the coins out to the USPS?

I got two sets, one yesterday, another one today (definitely no demand for this one). It’s probably not even worth trying to sell it now, although it might be a good purchase if you can afford ‘saving’ that much…

The sets are still available at the mint website almost a day later. Not much demand for this one.

Anyone coming here getting scurd and not wanting to be holding the bag on Ebay. Yes you can cancel before your order is shipped but you have to call them directly.

The return process takes a month fyi. They quarantine packages for 14 days before opening them. Still better than paying $200 for 2 oz of silver though.

I did it and see it is still available almost 3 hours later.
I wanted to use PayPal for payment and had earlier linked my paypal account but the paypal option didn’t come up for me this time when checking out. I had seen it for prior orders. I’m not sure if it was not available for this purchase or if I needed to delete the credit card I had on file with them. Maybe it just didn’t load because of the temporary surge in internet traffic on their system. Anyone know? Did I do something wrong?

PayPal is never available for new releases, at least in the past 4 years I have been participating it has never been an option for new releases.

I’m not necessarily the one to ask and could be totally wrong but to me it just doesn’t look like the demand is there.

Ended up being a $28 money maker since US Mint is now waiving the shipping fees for anything over $100

Yes, same here. Easy $28, some points, and $402 toward the spend requirement. Thanks PFS!

Hmmm, I did not get shipping fees waived… was there a prompt or was it automatic? I still see coins available.
