The Offer
- Use you PNC debit or credit card as the primary card on a new Visa Checkout account to make a purchase of $10 or more and receive a $10 statement credit.
The Fine Print
- Valid 5/1/16 until 6/15/16
- Offer only valid for new Visa Checkout accounts
- Must add the PNC card as the preferred payment method on Visa Checkout
- The $10 statement credit will be awarded within 90 days after the end of the promotion period to either the enrolled PNC Visa credit card account or the primary checking account
- Visa Business Cards, Visa Gift Cards, and Visa Prepaid Cards are excluded (I think this means that you won’t get the $10 bonus for using Visa Checkout with a PNC business card or PNC Visa gift card or PNC Visa prepaid card)
- Limit of one $10 statement credit per customer or card account
- If the enrolled card or the underlying account is not open and in good standing at the time the statement credit is to be made, the credit will be forfeited
Our Verdict
There are lots of online retailers who accept Visa Checkout (including staples.com), and this is free money for PNC customers who are new Visa Checkout users. If you already have a Visa Checkout account, you should be able to create a new one and get in on this deal.

I just clicked the offer link but didn’t see the offer. How do I know if I’m qualified? Thanks!
Made the purchase of $15 on June 9th, posted on June 12th to my credit card. Still haven’t gotten the bonus so called PNC. They sent me to Visa checkout. Called Visa about 4 times, finally had the issue escalated. Investigation was closed today and Visa said I didn’t make the purchase using Visa checkout and pretty much told me to deal with it. I won’t be doing another Visa checkout promotions outside of the Starbucks ones.
My visa bonus came in today. I made the purchase in early May
I finally got the $10 yesterday.
Nice! When did you make the qualifying purchase?
Talked to PNC rep about a status on this matter – was told that promotion was later extended till 6/30 and $10 should post 90 days after the end of the promotion which would be Sep, 28th.
Thanks for this info Alex, this $10 hanging out there is really bugging me. It’s crazy that its taking this long.
Thanks for checking up on this, Alex. I’m sure we’ll all be calling PNC coming Sept 29 if we don’t see the credit.
I made a brand new Visa Checkout account and added my PNC CC to it and made a $10+ purchase on Monday, May 9. Still haven’t seen a $10 statement credit. Has anyone seen their $10 yet?
Give it a few months, as stated in the terms.
Thanks, Chuck, for all your hard work.
Nothing really matching $10 unfortunantely
What’s easy to buy in terms of gift cards, etc.? I used to buy egiftcards from Newegg but having lots of problems with Newegg these days, they always cancel my order.
Maybe an e-gift card from staples.com?
I had been planning to do this for a while, so I signed up today to take advantage of the Starbucks $20 gift card for $10 offer. I’m hoping that I get the PNC Visa Checkout credit as well so that the $20 gift card would be free. Even if I don’t get the PNC credit, at least I got 50% off.
Great idea!
Nice, nothing better than combining two promos for free stuff!
