Update: GiftCards.com has confirmed that most of these reversals were made in error and GiftCards.com is now working to correct this. Some people are already having their reversals fixed, but it could take several days to fix it for everybody. This is great news.
A lot of people got reversal notifications from Yazing (and perhaps other portals) for their Mastercard gift card purchases. Back in April, Giftcards.com stopped paying out for Visa gift cards, but Mastercard gift cards were still working, as per the terms. Now they are clawing back all portal trackings for purchases since July 14th. (HT: Travelwithgrant)
Yazing reached out to users to inform them of the unexpected clawback, and that they are waiting on Giftcards.com to hear why these happened. They also indicate that no official changes were made in the portal payout details, meaning that Mastercard gift cards from Giftcards.com should still be eligible for portal payout.
There are two issues at stake, one is the pending portal cash which a lot of people were waiting on, for many in the thousands of dollars. And the other is whether they’ve now removed Mastercard from affiliate payouts going forward.
Hopefully it’s just some kind of error. If not, Giftcards.com should at least make good on the portal payout for everything until they enact an official change (which they still haven’t enacted). Yazing has removed the Giftcards.com brand for now while other portals are still showing Mastercard eligible as before.
In an interesting move, the $30,000 monthly limit for the Giftcards.com and Giftcardmall sites found across portals has been been increased to $60,000.
