Update: As people rightly point out, this is the standard language in AmEx offers. Fingers crossed this means the credits will post well before the 6/30 date.
American Express just released a lot of good AmEx offers for personal Platinum cardholders, for example:
One thing I didn’t really notice when first posting is that the terms state:
The enrolled Card account must not be cancelled or past due to receive statement credits . Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 6/30/2021, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase.
This means you’ll need your card open at least until 6/30/21 and possibly until the end September. It might be worth checking to see when your card renewal date is and deciding if you’re going to keep the card. I suspect American Express won’t be offering generous retention offers based on all these credits/offers so it might make sense not to use these offers if you’re going to cancel your card or waiting closer to your renewal date if it’s before 6/30/21 to see what offers you get.
Hat tip to simeon
Has anyone gotten their HomeDepot credit? It has been a week since my homedepot.com (shipped to home) purchase but credits have not posted yet. Usually credits post in 2-3 days.
Can’t wait to ask chat to look into why my credits aren’t posting and they tell me to wait 6 months.
Wine Insider $30 credit posted today. Ordered 1/4, delivered 1/7, credit posted 1/7.
Purchased shipping charges Jan 4th. 4x bonus points already posted on Jan 5th.
Did every single Platinum cardmember get these offers? Or is it targeted based on some unknown metric?
Read somewhere that the card needs to be open on 11/1/2020 to get the offer.

My AF posts in May- does this mean I have to pay and wait until July 1 to cancel to avoid future clawbacks? Would I get a prorated refund for the remaining 10/12 months if I waited 2 months to close in this scenario? Thanks
Anyone else experience these new credits disappear? I added the home depot, and best by to my amex platinum. I no longer see them under my “added to card” and I didn’t use the card recently. I just added scribd, hopefully that one doesn’t disappear too
When you have more than 100 offers added to card you might not see it on the added offer even when in reality it’s there. This happened to me many times before
Spoke with amex support and they assured they are attached to my account even though i can’t see them.
When I added it to my card it sent me an email (for both Best Buy and Home Depot)
Mine disappeared as well! I added them this morning. When I went to check the terms this evening, they were gone. I am hoping it is one of those “glitches”.
P3 opened card in november…makes more sense now that no offers were received
I called today and got a $500 retention offer.
Wow congrats. How much did you spend with the card last yr?
you didn’t ask for 50k points instead?
My renewal is in February. I got $300 retention last year, so I’m sure I won’t receive anything this year. Would you go for Gold, Everyday or Blue Business Cash? Primary motivation is to preserve MRs.
I wouldn’t say that. I got 20k retention offer last 2019 then 50k offer 2020, so back to back year offers are certainly possible.
You mean Blue Business Plus, and based on the little I know of your situation, that would be one.
Yeah, Blue Business Cash isn’t likely to preserve MRs.
