[Expired] Publix: $10 off $100 Visa Gift Card, $10 off $150 Mastercard GC

This deal has expired, view more Publix deals here.

The Offer

Direct Link to offer (digital coupons)

Publix has two coupons available through the 16th:

  • Save $10 off when you purchase $100 of Visa gift cards.
  • Save $10 off when you purchase $150 or more of Mastercard gift cards.

The Fine Print

  • Expires 6/16/18.
  • One offer per transaction.
  • The Visa gift card is issued by Metabank.

Our Verdict

Safeway and affiliate stores are also running the same deal on Mastercards (their expiration is the 19th), they don’t have the Visa deal. Not sure if the Visa and Mastercard Publix deal work with variable-load $500 Visa as the Safeway deal does. Let us know in the comments.

The language is a bit vague, but last time around the way it worked was that the coupon takes $10 off directly from the gift card purchase – no need to buy groceries along with it.

Terms say “limit one per transaction” however I just bought a single Visa card and the coupon has disappeard from my digital coupon wallet.

Thanks for the heads up. My closest store was out of $100 VGCs but had lots of variable $25-200 MC GCs. Installed the app and clipped both digital coupons beforehand and used my phone number at check out. It took $10 off variable load of $200 MC GC. No issue paying with newer Discover It card opened at the end of last year for 5% back Q2 and 5% match after first year. May try another store tomorrow to see if any $100 VGCs are in stock.

Are others allowed to put these on a credit card? Our Publix limits us to $50 only on a credit card when you’re buying a gift card.

I’ve used a credit card three times with no hassle. Each time I bought at least one grocery item though.

So once I buy one card does the coupon go away or can I use it again on another transaction?

I have to say a big THANK YOU for this posting. I am so busy and Publix is not high priority. But, this deal will definitely help. THANK YOU, DOC!

Does it take $10 off of the variable loads too (up to $200)?

Can also confirm that no Publix (in my area anyway) sells more than $200 GCs. It was also just as easy to process the VGC as it was the MCGC last week–just add on Publix app and use phone number at check out. Wonderful for the Q2 5% categories but also hoping these come back later to help me max out my BCP 6% groceries as well.

Add another DP to Publix only carrying $200 VGCs. I usually don’t partake in the MC GCs, however I am a frequent user of Publix’s Western Union services so it would make sense that you could buy a MC GC and quickly “use” it before it gets hacked. Just a thought.

Are gift card hacks really that common? I buy a lot of them (including the Publix MCs) and have never had an incident.

Can confirm that Tampa Bay area Publices also carry max $200 MC GCs as far as I’ve seen.

I haven’t seen any Publix stores that carry VGCs or MCGCs larger than $200. I’m pretty sure that’s the max chain-wide, unless someone can confirm otherwise.

I can also confirm that the deal does work the same as last time — no need to purchase groceries along with the gift cards.
