RadPad No Longer Earning 3x – Share Your Datapoints

We previously reported that RadPad was earning 3x points on the Chase Sapphire Reserve when you used Apple or Android Pay. It seems like opportunity might already be over with some new data points of it not working:

  • 1, 2 (reader Yao, payment posted on April 21st), 3, 4, 5, 6

I don’t want to definitively call this dead just yet, but it’s not looking good at this stage. If this is the case then it’s really a question of whether RadPad changed their merchant category code or if Chase changed how that code (or specifically RadPad purchases) earn points. This has implications for Plastiq as well.

I made payments with Radpad and Plastiq on 4/21. They just posted – CSR earned 3x w Plastiq for rent/mortgage, but not Radpad (which earned 3x last month).

  2. joE says:

I wonder if Plastiq will freak out if I do a large payment, like 6 month worth, at one time or not. You never know when they’re next.

  3. Michael says:

My Apple Pay + CSR coded as 1X on 4/21 as well. Any DP with Citi cards?

  4. trojans says:

i guess I got lucky – got 3x(actually 7x due to retention) on Citi Prestige – posted 4/20

  5. Bigelow says:

DP: My CSP charged on 4/21 posted today as 1X. It was 2X last month. Posted as online/mail/ telephone transaction.

Man, i’m gonna be sad if this is done. I only hit it once 🙁

  7. todd says:

plastiq charged CSR on 4/20/17 coded as travel, earned 3x UR

  8. Adam says:

So is Plastiq still worth a try with my Chase Sapphire Reserve + Apple Pay to code as travel?? I pay rent in Utah if that makes a difference…
