  • I don't usually throw around the word "hate", but boy do I hate people who buy tickets/toy items with no intention other then to resell them. I wish more companies/performers would take action, but what do they care, they're still getting paid.

    • Actually a lot performers force their tickets to be scalped. The performer will charge $10m for a show and face value of tickets will be $8m in total meaning the only way the show can happen is if the tickets are sold above face value. The stadium or manager will sell them for say $12m to scalpers who will pass them on for $20m. That way the performer can underprice the tickets and still get paid.

    • I don't really have an issue with it, but for whatever reason I kind of hate it when there is a return policy like this. If people want to take the risk IMO that's fine but to have an easy out just makes it a no brainer for scaplers to buy as many tickets as possible without any thought.

  • I think the New Zealand tax makes perfect sense. Citizens are going to be supportive of taxes they don't have to pay. If someone is already coughing up a grand for a flight $20 is a rounding error and not going to deter anyone.

    • > Citizens are going to be supportive of taxes they don’t have to pay

This assumes that your next sentence is also accurate. If visiting numbers drop then so does tourism revenue and that does affect a lot of citizens.

I'd love to see the forecasting done
