I don’t usually throw around the word “hate”, but boy do I hate people who buy tickets/toy items with no intention other then to resell them. I wish more companies/performers would take action, but what do they care, they’re still getting paid.

Actually a lot performers force their tickets to be scalped. The performer will charge $10m for a show and face value of tickets will be $8m in total meaning the only way the show can happen is if the tickets are sold above face value. The stadium or manager will sell them for say $12m to scalpers who will pass them on for $20m. That way the performer can underprice the tickets and still get paid.

I think the New Zealand tax makes perfect sense. Citizens are going to be supportive of taxes they don’t have to pay. If someone is already coughing up a grand for a flight $20 is a rounding error and not going to deter anyone.
