Recap: Reader Tip, No More Southwest Nuts & More

Just wanted to let you & the community know about this as I haven’t seen it covered anywhere.

La Quinta status matches are still working and they seem pretty generous. I matched my SPG/Marriott & Choice Platinum to La Quinta Elite. Then after about 15 mins of account making, joined Wyndham, matched there, then matched to TR Platinum. Worked like a charm!
Also for those who aren’t TR members yet, you get a $10 drink credit or table bet for joining in Atlantic City.

It sucks if you’re the one, but is anyone starting to think that for evolutionary purposes, we’re better off letting people with peanut allergies die off?

Depends what you mean. Sick people with hereditary diseases should not be breeding.

Wonder if you’d say the same thing if you had a child with severe allergies like mine does. She cannot have any milk protein. Despite being limited with choices we still respect not bringing food places that have peanuts because we know what it’s like to deal with. If we can do it, so can you.

Based on your callousness I hope you didn’t and won’t have any children. Hate to see what you’d do if your child had a dietary restriction due to health concerns.

Ironically, people like you would be best weeded out of the gene pool. If we’re to evolve as a species it’ll be from working together, not acting alone and letting others suffer.

I certainly hope you are just a troll. If not, here is a better idea. How about jerks like you die off for evolutionary purposes. The world would definitely be a better place without self-centered a-holes.

I see that along with having Nazis marching openly, we also have a revival of eugenics.

If you have a peanut allergy, why is it so difficult to just NOT EAT THEM?!

“Oops, I forgot I had a peanut allergy and accidentally ate them!”

I’m a doctor and I’m not kidding when I say that there are people with anaphylactic (throat swelling, cant breathe, turning blue and dying) allergy to the peanut dust that’s at the bottom of those southwest bags that you get rid of by wiping your hands together.

Has anyone had that on a southwest flight? Not that’s been reported anyway but the news doesn’t carry every “is there a doctor onboard?” story and many of these patients carry epipens and will treat themselves quickly.

I’m glad there are people like you in the world, and specifically at DoC. The ignorance and apathetic nature towards people with severe allergies leaves me truly disappointed about where we are as a society. We’re at a point right now where everything is being questioned as true or not (fake news) and it’s extremely dangerous when those with severe allergies are not taken seriously.

My 3 year old was at soccer practice and got a huge welt on her forehead from someone touching her who ate something before going on the field. She had breakouts for a few days thereafter. If that’s just from being contact reactive, I cannot imagine what those with peanut allergies have to deal with given that dust can cause anaphylaxis.

Just eliminate all food and make my flights cheaper. Problem solved. The longest daily southwest flight is 5 hours, you’ll survive.

I’ve looked for 15 minutes but can’t figure out how to status match between Marriott/SPG and La Quinta.

Send an e-mail to [email protected] with your La Quinta member number, proof of status at Marriott/SPG, and ask them nicely to match you.

NBC evening news also reported the SWA peanut-case story last night, in the same broadcast where they ran a far more distressing story about a dirty, yet widespread secret in the airline industry — of how the bathrooms are getting smaller. fyi, link to the story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaFqsdQbw00

DoC,
“United becomes … by Skift” not “by Skrift” (which I originally thought was a typo for “Skirt” since I never previously heard of Skift.com. Thought it was a “Mad Men” type of reference). 🙂

Anyone who has the Wyndam CC has Platnium status already. You get matched from La Quinta Elite to Wyndam Platnium…I with they would match to Wyndam Diamond bec Elite is the highest level Of La Quinta and Diamond is the highest level of Wyndam…oh well
