regions bank

Finding your account number can be tricky. To do so, following these instructions:

  • Click customer service
  • My profile
  • Edit Account Name

Referral Bonus $50

There is also a referral bonus you can receive in addition to this $300 bonus (bringing the total to $250). You need to mention the full name and e-mail address of the person who refers you to get this bonus (they’ll also receive a $50 bonus). Reader Darron alerted me to this bonus, so consider getting in contact with him and using his referral:

  • E-mail:

The Fine Print

  • Qualifying direct deposits are payments from the government or payroll
  • Requirements must be completed within 60 days of account opening
  • Bonus will be credited within 120 days of completing the requirements
  • New customers only
  • All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Avoiding Fees

There is an early account closure fee of $25 if you close your account within 180 days of account opening. There are four checking accounts that are currently offered, but there are only two that should be really considered. You can compare all four by clicking here.

LifeGreen Checking $8-$10 Monthly Fee

This account can have it’s monthly fee removed if you do any of the following:

  • Have an average monthly balance of $1,500 or more
  • Receive a single qualifying direct deposit of $500 or more per cycle
  • Receive cumulative direct deposits of $1,000 or more per cycle

LifeGreen eAccess Account $8-10 Monthly Fee

This account can have it’s monthly fee waived if you make 10 or more Regions card purchases per cycle

Our Verdict

This isn’t as good as the other Regions checking promotion for $350, but that is only available in Atlanta, Miami, Tampa, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Austin, and Dallas so this bonus opens things up to a few more people. If you live within the target area, then I strongly recommend this bonus as it’s fairly high and easy to meet the requirements. As such we’ve added it to our recommended bank bonus page.

Like always, we’ve also added it to our complete listing of all bank promotions that are currently available.

what credits cards can i fund an account with and have it not count as cash advance

As Will mentioned, send me an email at and I will email you the referral email w/ form for the $50 reward card. Thanks!

I funded with citi double (have my cash advance limit set to 0 on it)

Looks like this is dead… “Promotional Code has expired” error when trying to sign up with code 200P2.

Just signed up in-branch, if you shoot me an email at, I can get you an extra $50

Use following landing page for new offer:

I don’t think this offer is good for Tennessee anymore. Every link I go to takes me to an offer for a different area.

[…] a $350 bonus for most of these targeted areas in the past, although some of them have only had the $250 bonus. They also offered a $165 bonus in the past as well. This is a pretty good bonus and looks like it […]

just funded checking account and a savings account for 1000 each, 2K in total in charge, with the Citi Hilton Reserve Visa. Went as a credit card charge Did call citi to set cash advance line to zero prior to the transaction.

I am wondering anybody received 1099 from them? I didn’t. I got the $200 bonus.

Read a few forums, says even if not reported on 1099, still suppose to report to IRS. Shall we just add the amount to it?
