Reports: AmEx Shop Small Offer Works on Samsung Pay Gift Card Purchases

Reports on Slickdeals indicate that gift card purchases via the Samsung Pay app are working to trigger the AmEx Shop Small $5 credit promotion with $10 purchase.

You can buy gift cards to many places such as Best Buy, Starbucks, eBay, and more. Some, such as Spotify and Google Play, can be bought in $10 denominations. Others, such as Best Buy, have a $15 minimum. Remember that you can only buy two gift cards per day from Samsung Pay.

We previously reported similar things about gift card purchases from the Fluz app and from the eGifter website working to trigger the Shop Small offer. Samsung Pay is now a third option. These are useful for someone who can’t use the offer on organic purchases.

I’m a little less confident in using Samsung Pay since it doesn’t actually seem to be a small business and there’s a small risk for clawback, though overall my guess is it’ll be fine. If anyone finds Samsung Pay on the Shop Small map, let us know and I’ll add it. Fluz and eGifter are actual small businesses and they show on the Shop Small map; they seem like safe options to me.

Has anyone seen discussion or have experience on whether it is $50 per credit card or per auth user?

Last time I used each they were still working but I haven’t bought anything in the past few days. Why would Fluz no longer work? It is still showing on the Shop Small map.

Not sure if it counts for this program, but I think my local UPS Store franchise has books/rolls of USPS stamps for sale. If you have any one-off packing/shipping businesses in your area, they probably would too.

Try a grocery store that’s on the AMEX Shop Small list.

Why amex sending me email for this promo on cards that don’t even have this offer?

Same. I don’t have it on any of my cards. Got email offer, it shows up as an “enroll now” ad when I log in, and when I got to amex chat if also provides a link to enroll. All send me to a “this offer is not available” page… :-(. Of course, I haven’t had a targeted offer of any sort on any card in almost two years, since they blocked adding offers on multiple accounts. Methinks they broke my accounts when putting the new logic in place.

I checked my Bluebird card and the shop small offer is on that as well. Is this offer on every AMEX card? I added it to one and it disappeared from the others like usual, however, I’ve noticed some have indicated that they have it on every card? Am I missing something… I hope the answer is yes!! 1 John 4: 7-8
