[Confirmed] Shop Your Way & Uber To End Partnership On May 31st, 2019

Update: Shop Your Way just sent out an email confirming that the program is ending on May 31st. Points will continue to be valid for two months following issuance.

Original Post:

Reader Dev contacted Shop Your Way due to some missing points from an Uber ride and during that contact the representative informed them that this partnership would be ending on May 31st, 2019. At the moment this is unconfirmed, but it would be unusual for a rep to make up a specific date such as this up.

It will be interesting to see if Uber replaces SYW with another partner, especially with Lyft recently partnering with Hilton as well.

You must not have been looking too hard. Got a new toaster oven and outdoor grill myself (among other smaller items like LED lightbulbs and what-not). Definitely going to miss this little bonus…

Is anyone from Amex marketing listening? How about 200 MR / ride?

PEI is very good. $2 per $20 spent at uber and loyalty bonuses. Capped at $5/day.

That’s not bad. Personally I’d rather continue buying Uber gc and earn 5x UR uncapped, while stacking with something like SYWR did before. Which loyalty bonuses are you taking about, Uber or PEI? I’m Uber Plat.

I got ~$2500 back through this connection in replenishables over the last year and half. Toilet paper, wipes, potty pads… they’ve made it so hard to redeem the points now the program is pretty much useless. It was fun while it lasted (that random free $150 they gave me after the program went haywire for a month or so was nice too) but at this point good riddance…

Yeah, that May 31st did seem suspicious in the letter announcing rides were going down to $1 and thought it was probably the end. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/shop-your-way-rewards-uber-now-limited-to-20-per-month-1-per-ride/#comment-740548

I, too, am missing many points from rides recently.
