Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Program To Devalue Star Alliance Awards On April 16th

Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer program has announced that a devaluation will be taking place on Star Alliance award flights on April 16th. This follows negative changes that were made to the award chart for Singapore/SilkAir flights on January 24th of this year. Here are the two award charts for Star Alliance

Economy flights will be staying the same price and business/first class flights are increasing in price. For example business class flights within North America will be increasing from 20,000 miles to 23,000 miles. Overall the devaluation isn’t a huge one, but these increases do add up.

Like you said…isn’t a huge devaluation. But one thing I noticed, and specifically appreciate, is the award chart is in table format now. Yes! Can’t tell you how hard it was to figure out North America to Middle East on the PDF chart.

Does this have anything to do with Singapore Airlines disappearing from United’s web site and app for award redemption?
