Our Verdict

We saw a similar 3 month offer last year, but that also worked for existing customers whereas this will only work for new customers. We’ve also seen a couple of money making deals as well:

My recommendation would be to wait for one of those money making deals to return, unless your desperate for the service now.

I always sign up for the $5/mo 6 or 12 month promotional rate. After the promotional rate time period the fine print says they will autocharge your credit card the regular monthly rate. The way around this is to use a virtual credit card number that expires in two months and has a low dollar limit that is just enough to pay the initial promotional rate. That way SiriusXM has nothing to bill to when the promotional period is up. Rinse and repeat later.

This is a company that already mails out paper bills, it’s quite certain they’ll send you to collections if you use an accurate name and address. Unlike Spotify, Netflix, etc.

They will most definitely send you to collections. My neighbor was bitching about this a while back.

Be very careful of giving SiriusXM any kind of phone number. They will call you non stop when trying to get you to renew after the trial/promo runs out. Additionally, its not even a human, just a robo caller. Blocking it was bizarrely hard as I recall. Also consider using a virtual one time card number or something, even though few issuers still offer them anymore. (Citi does).

Unless you’re a truck driver or something like that, I fail to see their value add in a modern world of podcasts, free music on google, apple, pandora, spotify and so on. I had them for a couple of years and unplugged, and that was mostly because I drove a lot in areas which had no data connectivity.

So use Google Voice number on a Churn g-mail account with a Citi Virtual number,

may do it just so I can listen to ‘Da Bears’ this fall when I can’t watch the game, can it be used on more than one device or on a phone as well?

It was the only thing I listen to on Sirus last fall when it was included with car purchase.

But yeah agree hard to see value (except for Swagbucks – may wait for another to come along)
