Slide app made a major shift in their app model by eliminating the uniform 4% discount on all gift card brands. Going forward, each card brand gets a different discount amount. This has favorable results for some of the smaller brands which are now discounted more than 4%. Yet for most of the top brands – such as eBay, Lowe’s, Chipotle, Uber, DoorDash – the discount is now lower at 1% or 2% or 3%.
Honestly the change takes away most of the usefulness of the app, as I see it, especially since they are no longer on shopping portals. We’ve updated our review on Slide app with the change.
