A survey was sent out regarding Chase Southwest cards last year, in it included the statement that Southwest would be launching lounges. 5 lounges are currently planned:
- Honolulu (HNL). Five year lease for 9,577 square feet was approved, then another 2,664 square feet were granted.
- Nashville (BNA). 30,000 square feet lounge with a construction cost of $53 million. Dubbed ‘The Oasis”. Located in an area dubbed “South mezzanine,” above the Acme Feed & Seed restaurant right after you exit PreCheck.
- Denver (DEN). CEO Bob Jordan called lounges in Honolulu, Nashville and Denver a near term pursuit, but didn’t provide any other details and none seem available.
- Austin (AUS). 40,000 foot lounge in the new concourse being built.
- Dallas (DAL). No official plans but Southwest control the gates and there is a $1 billion transformation planned that will include lounges. Would be crazy if Southwest didn’t have a lounge open there.
We still don’t have details regarding who will be able to access these lounges, what the cost (if any) will be or if a premium Southwest card will be launched.
