Our Verdict
You should also still be able to get a $10 bonus for sending money via Square cash the first time. It’s kind of sad that this debit card is offering a better rewards program than the Chase Starbucks credit card. How useful this promotion is will really depend on how often you pay for coffee (or other items at a coffee shop) and also how long the promotion lasts. I can easily see some people doing this daily (or at least every business day) so that would be a nice reward for them. Another nice thing about this promo is you can manually submit a receipt if it doesn’t automatically track.

Hi, I got this offer and there’s some balance in my Starbucks account.
The online order payment is only giving me one option— my account balance (which is with one Starbucks gift card). Cash card is linked with Apple Pay.
How would I order online , pay with Cash card, and still get my Starbucks membership stars?

Went to Starbucks this morning- tried this out to see and no offer triggered- Spent 2.44
Placed a $2 Dunkin transaction. Didnt get the rewards. There isnt even an option to report the trans for Coffee Rewards (https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/6270-square-cash-coffee-reward-faqs) so maybe this is truly targeted? I sent a support ticket in

Does DD let you reload a card with $2? Min in the app is $10.

Omg, I love this! A family owned coffee shop opened near my house in the burbs (rare) and I’m going to try this there, and then blab to anyone there about it, to steal from Starbucks up the road 😀
I used my Square Cash Card to reload a starbucks gift card, in-store, for $5 (the minimum according to the cashier), and it didn’t trigger this offer. So, maybe the offer isn’t currently active (expired?), or it’s targeted, or it doesn’t work for gift card reloads, or their system is just broken in general.
I was told about the $5 minimum as well. However, I immediately received a notification of using my card at a coffee shop and would receive $1.
