Staples.com is now selling $300 Visa gift cards online, the card comes with the following fees:
- $7.95 in purchase fees
- $1 in shipping/handling fees
I don’t know of any way to get the $1 shipping fee removed, so it’s basically just a fee of $8.95. Let’s look at your cost per point compared to the $100 and $200 cards, assuming you’re using a card that earns 5x at Office Supply Stores.
- $100 gift card costs $6.95 in fees and will earn 534.75 points or a cost of 1.30¢ per point
- $200 gift card costs $6.95 in fees and will earn 1034.75 points or a cost of 0.671¢ per point
- $300 gift card costs $8.95 in fees an will earn 1544.75 points or 0.579¢ per point
The fee on the $300 card is basically 3% of the card value compared to 3.5% on the $200 cards. This is awesome news for anybody that manufactured spends at Staples.

pretty sure the $100 Visas sell for $5.95 not 6.95
Hope a rebate will be offered soon for the VGCs purchase
I usually get $1,800 per order, so given the option of $12 savings per order and three fewer cards to deal with – SIGN ME UP!
How would you liquidate these? Through bluebird or serve?
Thank you.
Are all the portals for VGC purchases at staples.com still dead?
Yes, and not just VGC. I haven’t gotten a payout from a portal on a third party GC purchase from staples.com since late May. They track but they track at $0.
Yes…why would that suddenly return?
Any idea which portals payout on gc purchases at staples?
Upromise
Are these these particular VGC’s loadable at Walmart via Serve?
I’m not holding my breath but I’m hoping they start carrying this in store too. I almost never buy these online since my local store lets me use the rebate gift cards for gift card purchases.
Staples GC or Staples Visa GC?
Both. The register isn’t hard coded against either of them.
Can you use this for the $20 rebate?
I believe the $20 rebate is for Mastercard GCs not Visa
This is epic. I just ordered 6 x $300 VGCs 🙂
which card do you have? usually which cards have ‘5x at Office Supply Stores?’
Chase INK. Amex has a card too.
