- Starbucks has launched it’s summer game for 2021. It’s a virtual board game and you can receive plays two ways:
- Make a Purchase at Starbucks Using a registered Starbucks Card
- Submit the entry form, no purchase required
- You’ll also receive one play for registering and viewing the ‘onboarding’ experience.
The Fine Print
- The Promotion begins on July 21, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time (“PT”) and ends on August 22, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. PT (the “Promotion Period”). For purposes of this Promotion, a “day” begins at 12:00 a.m. PT and ends at 11:59 p.m. PT, except the first day which begins at 8:00 a.m. PT and ends at 11:59 p.m. PT. Administrator’s computer is the official time-keeping device for this Promotion.
Our Verdict
Starbucks games have been getting progressively worse, but generally you can get some free stars at worst. Will be interesting to see if this is any better than previous promotions or if it’s worse again.

I played this game religiously every day twice since start till end .. Never made an actual starbucks purchase to get an entry .. Got 100 stars, one free refresher drink and one 50% off coupon
I actually won a $100 Starbucks gift card.
I won 10 stars and a free drink the first day, and since then nothing.
Update with a few days left: 95 stars total and another free drink. I play almost every day and since Starbucks has been giving me fairly easy star challenges, been doing those when I can (the ones which are buy x things or buy x consecutive days I sometimes do with lower ticket items).
It has been over 2 weeks and I have gotten 0 stars or prizes. In the previous games I was banking hundreds of stars 😭
On my 1st spin today, the ball literally bounced 3 times in the WIN section before landing in the SWEEPSTAKES section. I don’t know if it was glitch or if the game was mocking me.
Has anyone moved past Level 3: Camping Trip? It says play 2 days in a row to complete your campsite and I’ve been playing a few days in a row and haven’t gotten the Day 2 checkmark.
I finished Level 5 last week. You have to play before daily reset at midnight PST.
Yes, me as well. I have purchased every day since 7/25 and still cannot progress beyond level 3. I have submitted 2 emails. The 1st response told me level 3 was actually 3 days in a row, log out, try a different link, etc. The second response told me they were escalating this and will get back to me. That was Sunday morning and today is Wednesday and I have still heard nothing!
Here’s my experience (2nd try)
I tried again and won a free iced cold brew or refresher any size.
Went to the store and ordered a venti honey almond milk nitro cold brew. Coupon didn’t work. Apparently, not all cold brews are created equal and this only works on the basic cold brews according to the employee. I wasn’t going to pay $5+ for something I would never pay for in the first place, so canceled that order and got the basic venti honey almond cold bre (non-nitro).
I wish Starbucks allowed these coupons to be added in the app so you can see if the coupon would apply before ordering, getting in a very long line and then have people behind you get upset because it’s taking too long to figure out which ones the coupons will work on.
Might keep playing.

Holy crap this is a nice new feature:
“TRADE IN YOUR SWEEPSTAKES ENTRIES Turn in three of your sweepstakes entries, and we’ll give you a play. Keep the game going! Let’s trade!”
It would be an even better feature if it didn’t just turn three sweepstakes entries into one sweepstakes entry. After two wins on the first day or two I’ve got nothing other than some laughter at the physics of the game as apparently the middle bucket is carpeted to absorb the bounce and the side buckets are flippers as the vast majority of my drops land in the prize zone only to be rocketed out as many times as needed to end up in the sweepstakes area.
FYI: if the ball lands on the divider between buckets instead into one of the buckets, you automatically “lose” and win a sweepstakes entry.
That just happened to me this morning. How annoying.
