Swagbucks: Get $50 with a Sirius 6-Month $30 Subscription

Update 4/29/19: Deal is available again.

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Get 6 months of Sirius Select for $30 and earn 5,000 Swagbucks (worth $50).

The Fine Print

  • SB will appear as Pending for 32 days.
  • This offer is only available to new Sirius XM customers/subscribers.
  • Must submit valid name, address, credit card and other subscription information to earn SB.
  • Offer may only be redeemed once (1) per user.
  • If you are not credited within 32 days of offer completion, you have 14 days to contact the Swagbucks Help Center for further investigation. Help Center tickets submitted after the 14 day grace period are not eligible for further investigation and SB.
  • The following subscriptions are not eligible for SB: Select Plus SXIR, SXIR 1 month subscription, Basic 1 month subscription, Select 5 month subscription for $25, Select 5 month subscription for $25 + SXIR 1 month, News Spots Talk, NavTraffic, Voyager All Access Family Friendly, Aviaitor 1 month subscription, Pilot Preferred 1 month subscription, Premier 1 month subscription, Select Annual, half off 1 year subscription and Amazon 3 month streaming subscriptions.
  • (3/28/19: Last time it showed this additional line in the terms: Only the following subscriptions are eligible for SB: 6-Month All Access Subscription, 12-Month Select Subscription, 6-Month Streaming Subscription.)

Our Verdict

Looks like an easy $20 moneymaker (bit less after tax), especially worthwhile if you value the 6 month subscription. Note, terms make it sound like you need to call in (1-866-635-2349) to cancel, so this might not be doable online (should be online option for California residents, as per their state law).

Remember to cancel before it renews if you don’t want it to renew at the regular price. Also bear in mind that some people end up having problems either with the portal tracking or with getting their account deactivated, so keep the risks in mind.

If you’re new to Swagbucks, please read our review. You can also get a bonus of up to $13 by using a referral link.

Chuck Guessing this is targeted? I can go to your link, but when I click “CONTINUE”, it tells me 3000SB. Chrome SB button says 3000SB too. I don’t value the subscription so breaking even is not worth it.

Saw the 5000 SB offer and took advantage, thanks! DP, I’m an existing SB user

Swagbucks pending?

Had the 5,000 offer so I signed up. Swagbucks aren’t pending yet.

Well, help would be appreciated. No email or order confirmation from Sirius, Swagbucks are NOT pending, and my card has been charged already for $35 ($30+taxes and fees). Great!

As I’m already a happy SiriusXM subscriber, does anyone know if this would work for a gift subscription?

“Online Account Center Unavailable due to Maintenance” I’m sure it’ll be back up and running just as soon as the offer disappears from my Swagbucks account.

I would be interested in DPs on whether “new Sirius XM customers/subscribers” means not currently subscribed or have never subscribed before.

When I click through I get “Online Account Center Unavailable due to Maintenance
We apologize for the inconvenience, but the Online Account Center is currently down due to system maintenance. We look forward to serving you again shortly and thank you for your patience.”

I can shed some light on the canceling: Yes you must call in, they won’t anything over their online chat. They try to get you to stay but the calls have always been 5 minutes or less for me to get the account canceled. I usually do 6 month offers and call to get canceled and sign up again after for another deal.

What do you say to cancel in less than 5 minutes? I’ve canceled twice to jump on new offers. First, I tried the “repeatedly say no until they run out of offers” method which took 20 minutes. And last time I used the more direct “I’m not going to renew so continuing to give me offers is wasting both of our times” which took about 10 minutes. It’s like trying to buy a car, they seemingly put you on hold while they ‘look for an offer’ to try to wear you down.

If you have a good trick let me know.

Don’t answer any questions they ask, just keep repeating “I’d like to cancel please” and that usually gets them to skip all the nonsense.

I bounce from one six month promo to another with my wife’s car. My strategy for the past couple years has been to pay with a temporary card number generated by BoA. That way when it comes time to renew at full price on the seventh month, they won’t be able to charge me and will automatically cancel my subscription. Then like clockwork within a week or two they’ll send or call with another six month promo offer, and the cycle repeats.

Don’t give them your cell phone number. They spoof the area code to match yours when they call you to try and sign up again for months and months afterwards

Yeah, prepare to be bombarded by spoofed phone calls and tons of junk mail. And I never even paid them, just used a few-day trial once. Whole lotta hassle for (maybe) 20 dollars.

I saw a deal for a free Echo Dot with a new subscription. Think it’s possible to stack with this?

Doesn’t look like you could stack plus, very careful because they will charge you a $50 early termination fee if cancelled during the 6 months of trial.

this is not a trial, this is 6 month subscription by itself.

6-Month All Access Subscription ($50), 12-Month Select Subscription ($99), 6-Month Streaming Subscription ($30 but does not work in car).

Make sure you select the right one if you are going for just money, the XMSelect $30/6 month package is NOT listed

They have updated the special term.

The offer says you can get the 6 month select for $30 and get 5,000 SB, yet that option is not in the fine print. Go figure.

Tom
Tom

When you click through the offer it offers either the six month select (car) or six month streaming package. There are about $6 worth of fees added so only a potential $14 MM. Unlike most of the other offers, the Swagbucks have not shown up (even as pending) within 30 minutes of the offer.

The pending Swagbucks posted an hour later.

RM

Which package did you order? You seem to be the only one who has actually gotten pending SB.

Tom
Tom

Six month select. It’s pending in Shop Activity.

anne

Signed for husband and did not see pending SB. My acount but Sirius under his name. I was wondering if that caused the problem or he had to activate the radio first?

Swagbucks has completely revised the Fine Print on this offer, as follows:

“The following subscriptions are not eligible for SB: Select Plus SXIR, SXIR 1 month subscription, Basic 1 month subscription, Select 5 month subscription for $25, Select 5 month subscription for $25 + SXIR 1 month, News Spots Talk, NavTraffic, Voyager All Access Family Friendly, Aviaitor 1 month subscription, Pilot Preferred 1 month subscription, Premier 1 month subscription, Select Annual, half off 1 year subscription and Amazon 3 month streaming subscriptions.”

Also, there is no longer anything in the terms about having to be a “new” customer.
