The Fine Print
- Swagbucks are listing two coupon codes:
- FSEARLY which gives free shipping on American Express Business Gift Cards and
- FPFLASH which removes the fees on American Express Business Gift Cards
I was under the impression that if you use a promo code you cashback/swagbucks would not post correctly but given that it’s Swagbucks listing the promo codes this might not be the case. Can anybody confirm/deny?
How Much Are Swagbucks Worth?
The best redemption is for a $5 Amazon giftcard, this will set you back 450 points making points worth 1.1¢ each. Unfortunately you can only get this rate on those $5 giftcards, if you want a $500 giftcard then you’d need to spend 50,000. You can also redeem for Paypal cash or Visa gift cards at a rate of 1¢ per swagbuck. It’s also worth checking out their on-sale section as sometimes they have giftcards with a decent discount.
To me this makes their value less than 1¢ per point, but it depends on how much of a hassle you find Paypal/Visa gift cards.
Our Verdict
The best way to get the most value out of this offer is to get somebody you trust and love to refer you, that way between you you’ll be getting 2.2 Swagbucks per dollar spent on American Express giftcards. Even at the maximum valuation of 2.2% cashback I’m not going to bite. I’ve had problems with AGC in the past and I don’t have time for the hassle at the moment. I’m hoping that they go up to 3%+ again, but I’m no longer holding my breath.
