[Expired] [Targeted] American Express Delta Offers With No Lifetime Language (60k + $50 Gold & 70k + $100 Platinum)

This offer has expired, offer still available via referrals but it does contain the lifetime language.

The Offers

The Fine Print

  • Valid until April 11th, 2018
  • No one bonus per lifetime language

Our Verdict

To get the Platinum offer to show use the above link and then click ‘looking for the platinum card?’, that will only show up if you’re targeted once logging in. It’s always worth checking to see if you’re targeted for these offers if you’ve already had these cards before. If not, these are no different than the standard offer publicly available. As always read these things everybody should know about American Express if you have any questions.

Just got an offer in email of 60k points with $1k spend + $50 credit with Delta purchase for the Gold card. There doesn’t seem to be any lifetime language in there (I never had any Amex anyway)

Its targeted – when I opened the link in incognito it needed my skymiles number and password.

I received the Gold 60k points + $50 credit for $1k/spend this week in the mail as well. I have had the card in the past, but there does not seem to be any lifetime language.

Was targeted for delta 60k gold offer with no lifetime language. Applied and was approved. Messaged Amex asking to confirm bonus. She said she couldn’t see one associated with that account. Went back and fourth with her for 20 minutes and finally uploaded a screen shot of the application page. She said she’d escalate to back office to see what the issue is. Im still hopeful bonus will post without intervention but we will see…

If you are not targeted can you get a personal bonus and business bonus (business is sole proprietor and run by SS#, not Tax Id) like with CITI. Or is it one bonus total between personal and business?

Hi Doc,

If targeted by Delta, I know they want want me. = Then= good chance of being approved by Amex? Targeted with lengthy platinum mailer offer from Delta says apply using your sky miles no. … no other Amex cards 18/24.
No mention of offer when logged into skymiles account however. Could be due to flying first class on some flights. Delta would love for me to never fly Alaska again, don’t know about Amex caring one way or the other. Thanks Doc, appreciate you being there. Best regards, -AlaskaFlyer

No comment? Is AmEx very new account or inquiry sensitive?

After you click the application link, you should see the language “Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have or have had this product” below the points offer in bold letters.
Preapproved offers are not showing that language after you log into the Delta miles account and apply!

I also applied and got approved for the Delta platinum 70K mail in offer, which did not say once in lifetime language but clearly said the following;
“If we in our sole discretion determine that you have engaged in abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with the welcome bonus offer in any way or that you intend to do so (for example, if you applied for one or more cards to obtain a welcome bonus offer (s) that we did not intend for you; if you cancel or downgrade your account within 12 months after acquiring it; or if you cancel or return purchases you made to meet the Threshold Amount), we may not credit the welcome bonus to, we may freeze the welcome bonus credited to, or we may take away the welcome bonus from your account. We may also cancel this Card account and other Card accounts you may have with us.”
I cancelled my Delta platinum last year after receiving the bonus and I will update the post if I get lucky with this mail in offer.
I will wait to see the $100 to post in my account after a Delta purchase, before spending 3K on the card.

Update: Delta $100 credit posted within 2 business days. Looks like the pre-approved offer is working.

Hum. I saw the exactly the same screen attached in this article (Gold Delta in red background), but when I proceed and was about to enter my info, I found “Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have or have had this product.” Then, is this the “once in a lifetime” message? I have had this before in 2015; so I am afraid that I cannot get the signup bonus, then. Am I right?

With Amex known to be very strict on what purchases count towards bonus requirements, anyone know if bank account funding is an issue?

I have avoided Amex so far since I might need to pad the spending a bit so didn’t want to risk it.
