Our Verdict

Unfortunately cannot be used anywhere apart from at the pump so no gift card purchases. Works out to be a 20% discount, plus whatever you’d earn in credit card rewards. Pretty good discount, really wish we could purchase gift cards though.

i have a BP near me w/ a fancy carwash attached. But the carwashes are so expensive…

of course, if you hammer the Refer-a-Friend at Shell stations, 20% discount seems paltry. But still, i got it on 2 of my Amex cards, so theoretically i can do it 6 times.

0 for 5 — could have used this one. Alas, I’m once again in a dry spell for amex offers — for the past 3 months, only getting the offers for the high end boutique nonsense…. Closing my Amex business card….. no reason to keep it.

Not if gas is selling for $1.81. So that’s 14 gallons.

Most modern compact and subcompact cars won’t take more than ~10 on a routine fillup.

Case and point: Ford Fiesta SFE and Scion iA.

No need to have a massive tank when you can get 40+ mpg…

I can rarely pour a whole gallon into my Grom. 😐

On the plus side, it gets 100+ mpg. 🙂
