- Barclays has sent out spending bonuses deal is as follows, earn 5x miles for every $1 spent on hotel stay, airline ticket, auto rental, ride service and restaurant purchases, up to 10,000 miles each month with your card from August 1, 2021 to October 31, 2021.
Our Verdict
Not as good as the recent 5x deal that included grocery stores, but these categories should still be useful for some cardholders.

The extra 5x for this offer posted to my account on or about 12/18/21 (no-AF Arrival card). Nice little bonus for 3 months of restaurant spend.

when does barclay usually issue the bonus miles? my statement just close but did not see anything
Based off the last Barclays bonus point payout that came at the latest moment right at the 8 week mark, seems that this will come around Christmas.
Am I missing something? I have it on my Arrival (no email but saw it in online account) and this seems like a great bonus… 5x additional on hotel stay, airline ticket, auto rental, ride service and restaurant purchases. There aren’t many cards that would offer ~7% back (2x + 5x on travel and dining) on all those categories at once, for up to $1429 spend… each month for the three months of the promotion. While I recognize there aren’t as lucrative redemption options (with points conversions at Chase or Citi, etc.), the ease of redeeming for travel purchases (with the small redemption bonus) still makes this a worthwhile bonus, right?
Any idea if an AirBnB qualifies as a Hotel Stay?
Received offer via email and it says ” Use your AAdvantage Aviator Red World Mastercard to earn an additional 5X miles for every $1 spent on hotel stay, car rental, ride service and restaurant purchases, up to $2,000 each month from 8/1/21 through 10/31/21. In other words, my offer does not include Airline Tickets and is for a lower purchase amount each month. But that’s ok…. extra miles are extra miles. Haven’t seen an offer from Barclays for quite some time now.
My Aviator Red shows 3 additional miles, up to 1500 per month.
My offer is for an ADDITIONAL 5x miles.
“ If you receive this offer and enroll by August 26, 2021, you will earn an additional 5 miles for every $1 spent on hotel stay, airline ticket, auto rental, ride service and restaurant purchases, less credits, returns and adjustments (“Net Purchases”) with transaction dates between August 1, 2021 and October 31, 2021 up to 10,000 miles each month of the promotion.”
So it should be a 7x for me since the Arrivals card earns 2x on travel and dining.
